Played the game for the first time yesterday...we totally played mold wrong and thought we lost Mission #2 because we were having the abomination spawning mold outdoors. Thank you for this video in clarifying Line of Sight, Mold, etc... I subscribed because of this great video.

As an individual who fell in love with this game almost immediately, I'm coming to find that the rules we played originally (lazy reading on all our parts) were way wrong. At this point my main confusion is on the difference between Spawn Tokens and Mold Zones. Example: Does a Spawn Token always need to be associated with a beginning Mold Zone, or can they be in different areas such as shown in 15:00? We had always associated initial Mold Zones with corresponding Spawn Tokens, but again, we had the rules all sorts of wrong at first.

Hey Lance, I think you are doing a great job explaining how to play these games. Already subsribed and went back through some of your older videos to see if I missed anything from my favorites. I do have a suggestion and a request for you to consider. For the suggestion, I would like to see more of the story or theme explained for the games. For example, in Zombiecide Invader, players are taking on the roles of "X, Y and Z" after a (Insert cataclysmic event here). And in the interest of full disclosure, I have never played any of the Zombiecide games but I have looked at them a number of times. It would be nice to learn about the differences between them, whether it is just the theme or specific rule changes and new introductons to the game. And finally, I have a request for Dark, Darker, Darkest. If there was ever a game that needed explanation, this is the one and the videos that are currently on KZbin leave something to be desired. I have the game, have read over the rulebook, downloaded the updated rules and read those as well but something isn't clicking with me. For whatever reasons, the rules seem to fall apart when it comes to unlocking doors, breaking codes and unlocking the laboratory to gain access to the final boss fight.

Thanks for watching, and for the feedback I did try doing that with some of my older videos but I got a fair number of comments that my intros were to long and people just wanted me to get to teaching the game so I decided to cut that part out. As for Dark, Darker, Darkest I totally agree with you I was a backer of that game and talked with the company about doing the teaching video back when it came out and they did not want it. I did play it a couple of times, but like you said there are some holes in the rules and it was a challenging rule book to get through. I ended up giving the game away years back and never ended up getting the refund they promised to backers for content that would not be made even after talking with them multiple times at conventions and through emails so unfortunately I can't help with that one sorry. Thanks for the suggestion and please don't hesitate to request other games in the future.

@@LearntoPlayGames That sucks. I know that Queen games had some issues with the Kickstarter but having just gotten into board games recently, I don't know the details; only that people got ripped off somehow and rightfully pissed off. It's too bad because I really like the idea of survival horror game where the characters aren't just helpless victims on the run. Now after playing Dark, Darker, Darkest, I really want to learn how to play it correctly but I'm also wondering if I should try to sell it and take a loss as well. As far as other game suggestions, I have a rapidly growing bookcase of games that I haven't played yet with some of them still being shrink wrapped. The unplayed games that immediately come to mind are Gloomhaven, Descent, Spectrer Ops, Galaxy Defenders and Sanctum so if you want to do any videos on those, I will be sure to watch!

@@jamesc.7988 Thanks, if you get a chance the Resident Evil 2 game that Steamforged Games did was a great take on survival horror. As far as your other games I will be covering some of those as well with Sanctum the next game on my filming list so hopefully in a week or so I should have a video done for that one.

I would love to see the changes they made and do another video but I did talk with the company a few years back around the time they released the second edition and they were not interested in having me do an updated video so I have not play the new version. Loved the video it was quite helpful! I did have a question about difficulty settings. I read that the first 25 cards of the spawn deck are considered easy, the next 25 are considered medium, etc. If you're playing a mission as it's default do you just use the whole spawn deck or are you always supposed to choose just 25 cards within a desired parameter? If you do choose medium for instance is it only cards 26-50 that you'd play with or do you just make sure those are on top of the entire spawn deck? Thanks!

The main drawback of this game is that if you want to play it solo you need at least 4+ characters...

35:11 Is the "starting spawn token" (from which you cycle through all the spawn tokens) something you determine at the start of the game, or can you change the starting spawn token to another position around the board later, or does it not matter whether you change it because the end result will always have the same odds of drawing the same cards?

Great video! Question tho, can you put doors in air locks? Like can you shut a door going into the exterior zone? Also, does line of sight matters for ranged weapons as well? You can’t shoot a 1 - 3 sniper rifle if you can only see into 1 room?

Thanks for watching and for the questions. So for the first one I have always played that you can't place doors in air locks I can't find anything in the rules one way or the other. Line of sight does matter even for ranged weapons otherwise you could shoot through doors or walls. The sniper rifle is less effective inside due to the range restrictions, but you still get to pick your targets with its special rules which is very helpful. Hope this helps.

Do xenos always go to the place with highest noice if they cannot see survivors? For example: I have one place that is far away but has level 4 noice and one place that is near but has level 2 noice.

The way I have always played rerolls in Zombicide games is that you must reroll all the dice.

The comment on the Machine Gun and killing Abominatio is incorrect, I think... It has to be a full 3 damage hit, so you dont add all the hits up.... you need to use a concentrated attack so take the succeses and time by 1

I went back and re-watched the part you where questioning and I did state it correctly. you can add up the number of successful hits or multiple either way you are getting the same answer. The abomination does need 3 damage to kill it and I had a total of four damage more than enough to kill it. Thanks for watching and for the question.
