Great video. Slow motion is exactly what I needed to "click" hand position as I'm a beginner trying to soak info in and I'm a visual learner. No one uses slow motion and it is incredibly helpful to visualize hand position and how the rope flys through the air. Excellent production! Thank you

An xxs or an extra soft will be perfect for you. I highly recommend an xxs nitro. Lots of body, tip weight, and a great overall feel

talked to kaleb driggers the other day and he uses a medium soft. how does that benifit a header at all? im a true 5 header and i like them as soft as i can get them. but ive tried it and i have nevey waved off of so many steers before.

What I've noticed roping big bones, is that my loop or tip goes forward when i deliver (kind of like when your heeling) and the wraps back towards me, so my rope gets both horns about 90% of the time. but my rope goes kind of low too, to the tip of the nose at times till i pull it up. Hoping to one day be the best roper i can be

No you should practice close so you don't have to drop a coil then when you're on your horse you should be where you were on the dummy

I wonder how about the coasts of roping in america, I mean; having a horse and going to some place I could practice every week.

Depending where you go should be about $15 - $40 per head of steer.

O mean, all the spends, like. Owning a horse, And practicing, how much would oast it all?

Oh if you look hard you can probably find a started roping horse for $2,500-$3,500 and about $130 a month that covers hay, pellets, grain, and water. Then for someone to finish your horse (make sure there at least a number 4) should be about $1,500. All in all from the time you get your horse to the time it is finished it will be about 2-6 months make sure you get to bond with your horse before you send it off to get finished. Then practice if you go out for the afternoon and practice roping it will be about $30 per horse so if you bring two it will be $60. Hope that answers you question, I live in California so the prices may be a little different but not much.

I'm not the most experience roper but I practice daily and always watch all sorts of videos. I hear a lot of ropers say that you should have your index running down the shank but on your go pro yours doesn't look like it. Also, you're a proponent of 'spreading a deck of cards' but I usually see others go about half way and flip their hand over to prompt the catch. Any particular reason you do it the way you do?

Bloods2006 the pointing of finger is just personal preference and when you turn your hand over too soon it makes you split the horns 99 percent of the time when you split horns it's from not coming all the way across and turning your hand over too soon, so on big horns you really have to come all the way across. Hope this helps

Thank you for the reply. Do you know of any good ways to get in the habit of not turning my hand over too soon? My biggest issue is pulling before i have a catch so I've really been working on following through with my delivery, waiting a second or two, then pulling the slack that way I get out of the habit of pulling before a catch and making my loop smaller.

I’ve been roping for about 3 weeks by the second week I could get it on average 5 times out of ten third week I can make it 8-9 times out of ten I practice on an anvil that is as big if not bigger than those long horns lol I just picked me up a roping head dummy and roping that thing is cake all day long

Really not sure why roping big horns is a big deal. For me at least, roping big horns is easy but useless. Last 15 years at jackpots, all the steers have tiny horns anyway.
