I've seen MANY, many vids and have always wanted to see what you just did here: critique actual surfers out there. Starting too early, late, too far up on board, etc. Ever take some closeup clips and comment on them like that for a full video?

What if the board has traction pad. I have a foam board that has padding Can I still do the slide method?

Doesnt the slide up technique tear up your toes?

You practice slide up technique on hardwood floor with socks on or on a soft top surfboard and put sand down to help slide through. Goal is keeping the sand track down the middle as a reference. Its did wonders to all my clients asa training tool for the real pop up on a wave and teaches the hips to stay low and turn through.
