Learn this great (and versatile!) tubular beading stitch - CHENILLE STITCH! - and use Swarovski's newest size pearl, the 2mm, to give this basic beading stitch a fancier feel. Great for all skill levels.
You'll need approximately 30 pearls per inch of Chenille stitch that you'd like to bead, plus an additional 24 beads total for both of the Ladder stitched ends combined. The bracelet sample I show in this video used a total of 207 pearls (183 for the Chenille stitch tube + the additional 24 for the Ladder stitched ends)
SKILL LEVEL: Beginner

Hi Deborah! (thank you for the compliment!!) In this particular one, finishing it off is just simply threading some Soft Flex wire through the completed Chenille tube and crimping to a clasp - nothing to do with the needle and thread portion. Finishing off the thread and needle portion was included. Have you ever crimped before? (It can be done with a Crimper tool or even just so chain nose pliers) :-) Hope that helps.

I love this stitch! I have only made bangles so far but may try it this way next. I didn’t think of using elements other than seed beads. I’ve used 11/0, 10/0 and 8/0, the 8/0 goes super fast! Thanks for the tutorial, you’re a great teacher!

Totally understandable, Anne! We have a video going up very soon that will go over the basics of stringing with SoftFlex and crimping to a clasp (which is how I attached the Chenille stitch) - so keep your eyes peeled for that very soon. IN THE MEAN TIME, I do go over that technique in a few other videos so I'll link one below to you and it will hopefully be the missing puzzle piece you need. :-) kzbin.info/www/bejne/mqfdemmqhdmEjKs -Leah Come join the fun! really great tutorial, thank you very much!!! Looks like this stitch needs a lot of thread, good thing is that I practiced this one too. I'd love to see something "advanced" based on this, too... is it possible?

The video was great but I am not sure how to finish with the clasps. Can you give us a more specific explanation of how to add the clasp.
@EurekaCrystalBeads

Hi Chris, thanks for your question! You simply finish the Chenille stitch portion of the bracelet entirely (weaving out your thread and snipping it off) and then string a line of SoftFlex though it (since it's a hollow tube) and crimp to the clasp. - Leah

This is so beautiful! I would love to try to make it but is there another bead I could substitute for the 2mm pearls? I want to try to keep the cost down. Thanks.

Hi Pam, yes you can use any round 2mm bead like a Czech glass Druk bead: www.eurekacrystalbeads.com/round-druk-beads/?_bc_fsnf=1&Size=2mm or you can choose from our more affordable selection of Czech glass pearls: www.eurekacrystalbeads.com/czech-glass-pearls/?_bc_fsnf=1&Size=2MM . Happy beading!

You're a great teacher. I don't understand why you don't keep your camera close all the time? You're losing the rhythm with it being far, than close. Other teachers just keep the camera with close ups all the time. I hope this makes sense, because I would definitely make this bracelet. It's beautiful.

I'm confused why you would use soft flex and crimps to finish the bracelet. What's wrong with using the fireline to attach the magnet?
@leahwyckoff4791
@leahwyckoff4791 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Laura! There are often multiple options for finished pieces...threading Soft Flex through any hollow beaded tube is a neat way to make something extra strong... But utilizing Fireline to attach the clasp is just fine, too. :-) It's always good to show other options.

How do you get the clasp to keep tension?
@EurekaCrystalBeads

By getting the beadwork SUPER tight!! But if it's not working out well, you can always secure it differently to the clasp with a beaded loop! -Leah Come join the fun! The Beader's Nook at Eureka Crystal Beads facebook.com/groups/319085948930672/
