In the lesson where we learn to thank someone, the word "ederim" means "i give" and in this lesson, the word for "I give" is not "ederim" but "dilerim". So, how is it that they mean the same in english but different in turkish? Or are they interchangable?

the verb dilemek means wish but in different situation can change the meaning for example when you say "özür dilerim" the verb dilemek is here in simple tense dile+r+im[verb+tense+iyelik eki]

in normally dilemek means wish.But when the verb dilemek(wish) use with the word özür (apologize).then the meaning of the word is different here.When you say özür dilerim.it means im sorry or excuse me.But if you want to say excuse me in turkish you should say pardon or affedersiniz or as she sad kusura bakmayin.But özür dilerim means i am sorry(apology)
