Urdu is absolutely an Indian language originated in Delhi. Such a beautiful language that every Indian people should learn it no matter what your ethnicity is. I'm a Malaysian but my grandfather was an Indian Muslim from Delhi and he teach me Urdu when I was a little kid.. now he had passed away and I remember he always said about his love to his country India. I wish I can go to India and visit my grandfather's hometown in Delhi.. and we still have relatives there. I myself feels very close with India, maybe because I have Indian blood in me.. and I still understand some words in Urdu-Hindi. Am I welcome in India?

I believe you are most welcome. Most of north Indians speak hindustani mixture of Hindi and Urdu. You won't face any communication problem here. It is difficult to understand how people associate a language with religion. The fact till 60s most of north Indian Urdu was medium of instruction in schools. I believe Ex Prime Minister wrote all Hindi his speech in Urdu, read it somewhere.

Thank you very much for your style - particularly your idea of skipping the introduction to alphabet and starting off with words directly. It has really helped me start off. I am myself a teacher for last 40 years and do really appreciate your style. Keep it up. My interest in Urdu got started unexpectedly when I came in contact with a refugee from Pakistan who could speak Marathi (my mother tongue) fluently. When I asked him about this he told me that more than half of Marathi words are derived from Urdu / Persian words. I had no idea about this. Even though we - more or less - understand Urdu, we are completely ignorant about the script and hence cannot read Urdu. I will correct this situation now. Thanks once again.

Please don't give it a religious colour, learning Urdu language and watching religious videos both are different things. Language is a medium of communication, it has always been secular in nature, it has nothing to do with any religion. If somebody wanna learn Hindi/Sanskrit, it doesn't mean he/she is interested in watching Hindu religious videos or if somebody knows English, she/he like watching Christian videos. Urdu is a beautiful Indian language and it was born in India. If an Islamic country like Pakistan has made it its official language, it doesn't mean this language belongs to a particular community. Pl do rational thinking and keep the windows of your mind open and let good thoughts and ideas blows through it. For a long time I have been looking for such videos, thank you for uploading this. Since childhood I had a wish to learn basic Urdu but never could go beyond its alphabets as there was no such teacher or easy books available (didn't try much to search, too). I wish there were videos like this to learn all Indian languages. I would very much like to learn at least 4-5 Indian languages to an intermediate level at least but the lack of resources is a real struggle. Thank you sir ....it was my first class today!! Well it was a bit confusing for me coz I can write Hindi as well as Punjabi (in gurmukhi script) & even that can be confusing sometimes because similar words are used for completely different sounds as T (ta sound)of Punjabi is written same as Oo(U) of hindi (U as in Urdu) but still I was able to learn pretty well. Hope for the best 🙌🏻

malik ggg India has hundreds of languages. Tamil, telugu, malayalam, kannada, bangali, marathi. Its not necessary each and every Indian speaks each and every language. Hindi and Urdu both are our language.

Urdu script and language is my favourite but I didn't get any hafiz who teach me as I couldn't get a fix schedule for the same. But here your videos make me learn urdu writing. After getting done with it in practice I shall move to learn the French. Thanks
