Hello there! Excellent video. I first found out I had lashes growing inside my eye about 11 years ago, I was 13 at the moment and it was just so painful I took sissors and cut it, I had no idea what I was doing clearly. When I went to the doctor he called me crazy and said I was 'hurting' myself and that I needed to get check. So I never went to an eye doctor ever after that traumatizing experience for me. I have been plucking the eyelashes with tweezers for all of this decade but now I find that they are growing faster than ever before and it's becoming really painful. I have counted and it's around less than 25 lashes that are constantly growing towards the eye. they are literally straight downward and now I have a bald spot in the corney of my right eye, I admit that I can't continue taking them as it's becoming really hurtful and it's making my eyes very tired. I recently discovered that this is a condition and it's not me being crazy like the doctor said. :') So my question is; Who should I go? and how can I kind of now which one do I have?

Anyway to pluck the eye lash without it hurting? I tried to pluck mine and it hurt extremly.

usually doesn't hurt more than plucking your eyebrows. as it is so close to the cornea, it's best if someone with a microscope does it

@Learn About Eyes Is there a name for a condition where there are extra rows of eyelashes, and they rub against the eyelid and other eyelashes, but not the eyeball itself every time you blink? I've had this for 6+ years now, and it has caused a lot of problems, especially with concentration and learning.

sorry for the late answer. without seeing it, i am struggling to find a name. distichiasis can appear as a whole new row of lashes that are growing in a different direction (doesn't have to be towards the eye). i doubt that an additional row of normal lashes with the normal direction would cause any problems. so let's call your problem distichiasis for now. if the are bothering you that much, you can have them plucked as a test and if it feels better like that, the follicles can be burned

hi there !! do you know what might be causing my eyelashes to turn inwards (towards my nose/the inner corner of my eye) when I blink? It doesn’t feel very uncomfortable but it looks very strange and I can’t seem to find what this is caused by or what it means. I tried searching all 3 of the conditions mentioned in this video but I’m not sure if I have any of those and had to stop checking beverage’s the images were making me feel quite uncomfortable! I can blink “normally” if I put effort into it - I have to blink my usual way then try to look to the side (outer corner of eye) or relax them? It’s all very confusing.

Last night i was looking in the mirror and realized that i had multiple lashes growing out of my water line and then i searched for it and found out that if anyone has this there is an extra row of lashes turned kinda downwards in the upper lid and i always had this but thought everyone else had it.so which means that i have both lashes coming out of my water line and on my upper lid. Ik this isnt supposed to happen but is it a sign of somekinda disease if i have 2 out of the 3 kinds that were mentioned in this video? Also some time ago i tried to plug some extra lashes on the upper lid and i couldnt.i tried to pull them with all force but it looked like they were unremoveable and they were supper strong

I highly advise against plucking your own eyelashes. If they do cause problems, please see an eye doctor.
