Hi, Thanks for the video.. I have a question.. I have a file with records and another file with delimiter.. target file should contain both record and delimiter.. how to achieve this?

Thank you for your positive feedback. You will need to use an after job unix command in this case. You can generate the output file with records and a default delimiter of your choice. You can then use the after job command to replace the default delimiter with the delimiter in the second input file.

Thank you for your comment. If you are talking about viewing and finding data through a dataset stage, then there is an option to find data Ina particular column. A more practical approach is to make a copy of the job and apply a filter on the data you want to search and write it to a dataset or a peek stage.

if a job running on 4 node creates a dataset and some other job running on 2 nodes is reading that dataset. Will it be able to read the complete data, or partial data, or no data?

Datastage will repartition based on dataset descriptor configuration file. All data will be read correctly.

The job will fail as the descriptor file describes the location and metadata of the dataset.

If your input is a database, try to achieve this in the source SQL by using rank or rownum functions

If your input is a flat file, then it is easier to achieve through Unix commands - you can use head/tail commands
