While doing this code in eclipse after clicking on register button the response was not generated . So I used @WebServlet("/Url") annotation over the class and then response generate.can you tell why this is not happening without annotation in eclipse? where else mapping and packages are correctly imported.

those got a problem which i have faced it that after click submit it shows 505 error or 404 error. at first check in your web.xml file that url pattern and form action same or not,if same then clear catche in netbeans c drive user/appdata/nebeans/catche and install the nb-javac plugin on netbeans 11 or 12..ithink problem will resolve

It is nothing but just an identification for the data type that we are sending to the client. As in this case the client is a browser and we are using http protocol text/html is the one to be used
