That's great to be chosen by blackview to do a review, they know you have students behind your camera across the globe. Keep on sharing your electronics ideas

Thank you - I was contacted by Blackview in April regarding a preview ready for the launch of the BL8800 Pro in May 2022 but unfortunately they didn't have review samples in time so it got put back to August. I'm very impressed with it for electronics repair use.

Hi Richard, I really liked the thermal image overlaid with the standard image. It is much easier to see what is getting hot instead of using a pointing device to keep track of the hot spot then taking away the thermal camera to see the actual part. Thanks for taking the time to review and share the camera.

That is really a clever idea to use an image view and the infrared as an overlay, it makes things look much clearer. Also like the temperature cross hairs. Blackview did a good job on this one.

It would have been so cool if you could have reviewed the lower end bv6600 pro as well. Cheaper device in a poor country like where I live. Loved this review. Thank you for your content.

Blackview has done a great job, no doubt here! I think the performance is going to be great with the Mediatek chipset.

Mine is held up in customs at heathrow. I bought it for several reasons, most of which you covered.

Good luck with Heathrow customs, I hope it arrives soon - this one turned up within four days of shipping, which is impressively fast for post to Gran Canaria!

@@LearnElectronicsRepair if only! I ordered mine at the end of June for August 2 delivery on bargain deal of 260 quid Inc vat. It got to Heathrow in time but the good old revenue boys are taking their sweet time.

This is a cool rugged phone and it seems like the camera and the strong RAM and battery adds to this mediatek powered device's performance power.

I was hoping you'd show little closer on the board. 1 foot away is too far. At that distance you can't tell what component is getting hot. Closeup would be better test
@LearnElectronicsRepair2 жыл бұрын
OK I will do that on a video soon, though I thought it worked pretty well at that distance

Was Thinking of Getting One...
@LearnElectronicsRepair2 жыл бұрын
@weerobot I have to say I was very impressed with this mate, and I am being 100% honest and unbiased. I don't think anyone would be disappointed with the performance of the thermal imaging for electronics repair. Make sure to get the Pro version for FLIR. You would pay as much or more for a decent standalone thermal camera so as I see it you are basically getting the phone for free.

Hi Richard, I’m a fan of your channel circa the rinderpest. I enjoy watching your great content to keep up to date and also too, enjoy your videos. Criticism……. Hmmm , nobody enjoys it. Merely a query. Any chance of a 20 to 30 min vid?. It seems to work re “subscriber stats”. Cheers,

@@LearnElectronicsRepair sorry, just a reference to a timeline. Just some historical scourge that happened in Africa a long time ago. Better than saying “since granny fell off the bus😂”. No malice intended.

Ps, have been working in your neck of the woods, ie the puddle, for about ten years now and always enjoy a pint, in my off time, coupled with a sit down in a pub, to watch your latest. Unfortunately, I never get to see the fat lady sing. Hence my suggestion. It works for Alex.

@@bones1225 Yeah I did think that was a typo and then googled rinderpest and found it was something like measles for cows. I'll try to do some more 20-30 min videos but it usually takes me longer than that to fix stuff LOL I must be a two pint man!

Love blackview phones, but they are bad a keeping the software updated. They need to supply at least security updates for android.

Would love the phone but Blackview has shown they dont give a fuck about you once they sell the phone and the developer community isnt large enough to make up for it. Good luck

Hi alex bob I have no experience with Blackview phones or their tech support so I can't comment on it. I was asked specifically to review the BL8800 Pro for electronics repair work, which I believe I demonstrated to the best of my ability . I was surprised how well it did that to be honest given the resolution of the FLIR and would be very happy to use it for repair work, that is for sure. Having said that the BL8800 Pro and The HIKVision thermal camera I used previously on the same motherboard are equally capable of locating the fault. Here is the other video I made with these motherboards, if you didn't see it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oZypqGOFa86rqck

Sometimes YT deletes comments without me even knowing they did it - This seems to happen quite often if there is a URL in the comment, but then other people can post the (same) URL and YT doesn't have a problem. Go figure! 🙄

@LearnElectronicsRepair2 жыл бұрын
@@ElektroTechNL I agree with you. Without making a direct comparison to other genuine FLIR camera brands, but purely by testing the Blackview on a real life example it worked very well in my opinion. It certainly gave a clearer image than the HIK Vision camera I was using on the same motherboards - though having said that, both were capable of finding the fault 😉kzbin.info/www/bejne/oZypqGOFa86rqck
