Merci pour l'explication. être was estre which in 3rd person sing is est which is almost the same as persian ast and would sound the same if vowels were pronounced. In Kashmiri gender neutral pronoun is ce exactly as in french and that thing is ce cheez very similar to french ce chose. Amazing how languages are not so different as one thinks them to be. Merci

Un garçon is a boy and 'fils' is son! So we would say mon fils as my son :)
