I didn't recognize the name for a moment or only vaguely until I saw his pictures and then immediately, but so many extraordinary pictures here that I've never seen before. I've always loved the Symbolists including Van Gogh and the Pre Raphalites, but there's an eerie and evocative strangeness about these monochrome etchings that find almost mesmerizing. The sheer craftsmanship of them is exquisite and noteworthy in it's own right.
