Hallo! Ich habe eine Frage: Why do I hear Deutsch speakers in some videos [not yours] say "Itch" for Ich [like the ch in church] and some say "Ikh" for Ich [like when you say Burke or the german word Buch]? Is this a regional thing? Danke!

+Rammer Jammer Hallo! First of all, how "Ich" is spoken is a regional thing. :-) The letter combination "ch" has different sounds depending on where it comes in a word e.g. 1. In "Ich" the sound if we compare it with an english word would be the "h" sound in the word "huge". 2. If "ch" comes after the vowels [a, o, u] as in "Buch" then you can compare it's sound to that of "k" in the word "book" or "ch" in the word "loch". 3. If it's at the beginning of the word like in "Charakter" or "Chor" then the sound will be that of "k" in the word "skull". I know it's too much of information, but it's important to know the difference. So "ch" sound in "Ich" is not similar to that of in "Buch" ;-)

There is no "s" in "ch". I definitely hear it in your pronunciation.

i totally agree and i think the music in the background is unnecessary... It is quite distracting and cannot hear the pronunciation clearly...

Very helpful and clear... unfortunately the music during the explanation is so annoying that I can't stay more than 3 minutes watching the videos. Obviously each person has their own opinion... anyway, the information at the videos are amazing.

Hallo. I just started this course, you´re one of the best options. I know you have already recorded these videos. My recommendation would be to pay more attention and take some time for german pronunciation and if possible not so much english, feel annoyed with it anf the loudy music, it´s extremely annoying. Hi! I have just started learning German and currently I am working on my pronunciation. I have confusion with the sound of s and g in german words. For s, I have been told to pronounce it as 'sh' when it is followed by a consonant. But in this video you pronounced 'spreche' as both like 'sh' and 'z'. was it because 's' was in capital? also we pronounce 'g' as 'g' like in goat, 'g' like in german and 'g' like in 'zwanzig'. Can you state all the cases for pronunciation?
