Learn German Lesson 44 - Present Perfect 1 (Sentence structure) | Perfekt 1
In Lesson 44 you will learn about the “Present Perfect Tense”.
In this video, you will learn what the present perfect sentence in German is. This lesson is the first part where you will be learning how to build a simple sentence in past tense.
Learning objectives of this lesson are:
• Firstly, we will go through the different tenses in German.
• After that we will learn what is perfect.
• And lastly we will be learning how to form sentences in perfect.
At the end of the video you will find a table with the list of verbs and their perfect form that you will learn in this lesson. Additionally there is a small exercise at the end of the lesson.

"Wir sind letzte Woche nach Paris gefahren" is trasleted as "Last week we travelled to Paris", but it isn't present perfect in English. Maybe because the time frase "Last week" the English traslation is different. Danke schön by the way, Sie haben eine gute Methodik

The German verb tenses are very similar to Latin. I haven't studied the history of the German Language, but it sees that most of the grammar structure is very similar to Latin, whereas the vocabulary is very different, of course haha

In the sentence "ich musste zum Arzt gehen", the Modalverb is in "Präteritum" since the Perfekt for "müssen" is not used that much. The Präteritum for Modalverben will be taught in A2 - we will soon be making a video on that.

If das Perfekt is present perfect, how come the question "Was hast du gestern gemacht?" is translated as "What did you do yesterday?"? Shouldn't it be "What have you done yesterday?"?

I don't think what have you done yesterday is correct English sentence. When specific time is mentioned it is simple past. In case of no specific time it is present perfect. In case of sequence it is past perfect

It can be both so when it can be present perfect it’s „Ich habe es noch nicht gemacht” in english it’s „I haven’t done it yet” and in simple past it’s „Ich habe es gemacht"and in english „I did. it”
