the anecdote at like 0:30 ish is false, wanikani has never had an official app. Been following tofugu for like 13 years + before wanikani was even a thing and koichi was just making funny youtube videos, then textfugu, then wanikani, whispers of etoeto etc. The apps that have popped up for wanikani are third party built with the wanikani api. ps (been a lifetime member of wanikani since august 2012, and never made it to level 10 despite resetting every single year haha) 2022 for sure >_> this'll be the year of the level 60, right? RIGHT!?

2023 Update. Only three levels are free now. But they have a sale once a year and you can get a lifetime membership right now (Dec 2023) for $199.

I adore this website. I used to study with other apps but this one takes the cake. The mnemonics are really funny and helpful, but sometimes I make up my own which usually works better for remembering. I usually put some lo-fi Japanese music in the background and do the reviews that way. I try to have 0 reviews pending... We'll see how I hold up. BTW what level are you now?

Cool way to learn Japanese. The sentences are a bit funny though. The content is good and the editing is nice and minimalistic 🙌🏻 which becomes easy to understand for the viewer
