Dan Novak and Ashley Thompson host today's Learning English show. First, Dan Novak reports about the new Argentine president and the economic crisis his administration is facing.
Then, Faith Pirlo has a story about "panda diplomacy" between the U.S. and China.
Next up is the LE Health & Lifestyle Report. More than 40 percent of American adults are considered obese, or medically overweight. But drug trials often do not include obese people. If drugs are not studied in a condition that affects almost half of the U.S. population, experts say the real-world effects can be extremely serious or urgent. Gena Bennett and Bryan Lynn report on the lack of drug testing
We close the show with the LE Lesson of the Day. Andrew Smith and Jill Robbins base their instruction on the LE video series Let's Learn English. They explore interactions Anna has with a visitor to her new city.

We indigenous people are not good at complimenting other people about something. I don't know the reason but I suppose this might be one of our social norm. I might find somewhat the root of it, but it's not my point. I appreciate today's program for its being innovative/fresh/brain storming. Today's programs are the greatest in its being brain storming.

I feel interested/puzzled/perplexed in such paradoxical expression. 24:19, 'They are agreeably disagreeing'. This caption/sentence indicates that they enjoy being disagreeing with each other about the difference of between city and country life, I suppose. 24:29, 'but try not to be disagreeable when you disagree'. In this case could I express as 'they are honorably disagreeing.'

I'm an intermediate English learner. I appreciate this program being useful/effective for my learning English every day. Would you mind if I ask you to teach me. 15:53, 'to reach the amount of risk salt needed to be effective.' In this caption I can't grasp the phrase 'risk salt'. Instead of 'risk salt' could a phrase 'lick salt' work? or is there any other? or is the phrase 'risk salt' correct?

@@voalearningenglish I appreciate your introduction of link-URL. I reached/arrived other learning section beside main sentences. I couldn't get the solution for my question, because of my poor comprehension, but I could get bigger learning opportunity. Thank you again.

Would you mind if I ask you a question. I feel somewhat weird about 'exports of imports' in the following caption. 3:59, 'A major drought affected the exports of imports and crops like soy, corn and wheat, which used to bring in enough foreign exchange money. Please teach me the specific name of imports if possible.

Hello @nun-chan9433. We auto-generate our captions so there may be some mistakes. We apologize if this is causing some confusion. Dan says, "the exports of important crops..." I hope that helps!

@@voalearningenglish I appreciate your transparent/straight reply comment. I would never be seeking perfect for AG/GT. Perfect would not always pleasurable/somewhat funny, I could find therefore we should enhance/boost ourselves to comprehend AG/GT's misunderstanding. It is my motivation for learning English. I would be in pleasure when I could find his mistake. Please sprinkle magical spelling (1 or 2, not many) mistakes sometimes. Thank you again.
