Three U.S.-based scientists were honored for the discovery and development of quantum dots, a technology used in displays, TVs and LED lights. The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences recognized Moungi Bawendi of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Louis Brus of Columbia University in New York, and Alexei Ekimov of Nanocrystals Technology.
05:33 Then Gena Bennett has a story about a training program in Pakistan helps Afghan women become financially independent. The program provides choices for women to learn skills. When they complete the program, many women begin their own business.
09:39 After that, Bryan Lynn has the Technology Report. Bryan reports on a new experiment that found that AI tools can greatly help worker performance. The research suggests AI tools like ChatGPT can improve worker productivity. But it found the performance dropped in tasks that AI was not good at.
