I hate being under actual time pressure, but it's super fun for me to run through games more efficiently, playing around with how to break progression etc. This run I found that, in absence of our Waterbolt, Demon Scythe is still an option, and wrecks WoF 1st boss with ease if you get Jungle Armor and some hp/mana/pots. Dark Souls used to be the game where I'd just play around with the sandbox, maybe try a route I never did before just for fun, Terraria is becoming one of those games. One of the main things that really caught my interest was reading ''in-depth harmode tier list'', it's a forum post with some perspectives on weapons that made me realize just how many considerations there are in this game. There's not only considerations like using spread weapons vs. big targets, but also the distinct difference between weapons like Blizzard Staff and Bubble Gun within that category, and how they counter different kinds of enemy movement. Enemies and how they're fought are also incredibly well designed to let these traits shine, piercing and even just radial AoE are hard to get a lot out of in many games, but letting the player cleave straight lines of enemies across flat terrain and introducing segmented enemies etc. just makes it all work so well. I could keep going for ages, I certainly wasn't expecting this from Terraria all those years back, and am really impressed there's this much meat in this area for what I was told was ''2D Minecraft with more enemies and weapons and stuff''

Challenge idea: Beat terraria with water bottles (holy water, blood water, unholy water). These actually have 20 damage but if you miss your enemy you will leave some blocks of hallow/crimson/corruption behind so it would be interesting to see the final shape of the world like the sandgun challenge. You can give yourself infinite bottles like the sandgun challenge.

I think I just found the fastest method, you make a beeline for the dungeon, not for skeletron or the old man, for the water candles, since you can get a few at the top without encountering that poxy skull, just take those, next start building up your equipment while waiting for the blood moon (I prefer the summon count boosting equipment combined with whips), the moment you get a blood moon use either the mirror or potions to get back home and plonk down a water candle, collect as many pirate maps as possible, if you managed to get a moon accessory equip it and summon the pirates at night, else summon them during the day, make sure you have plenty of roof space to plop down the various flags as you collect them during the attack, even if you fail to fend off the attack it doesn't matter, you're looking for the golden toilet to drop during the attack, as long as you pick that up you have your run :)
