Hello Brian, You can buy everything down at Bashams factory in san clemente. eps is totally different than polyurethane blanks so depending on the blank i like to start with 60 grit

Nice video! What do you do about the planer marks left after finish sanding? Is there a filler you use?

how do I know what foam to use? and what do I 'varnish' it or what ever. thanks in advance.

+gtenhave Thanks for the question for sup boards eps is lighter and stronger but it does take a bit more time to shape. I like to use USblanks and having a professional glasser is worth the extra $. Hope this helps. There is a great factory in San Clemente to buy everything to build a surfboard and fins, leashes etc, it is on los molinos or called bashams.
