If you'd like to explore the technique of indirect painting, you're in the right place! Join me in my latest journey through the Milan Art Institute Mastery Program. In this video, I explore the fascinating world of indirect painting, focusing on value scales and creating depth in landscape art. Watch as I transform a vivid underpainting into a stunning final piece, using techniques and tools that bring out the best in oil paints. From the initial chaotic mess to the final refined details, I'll share tips, challenges, and the joy of painting clouds with oils. Don’t forget to subscribe and hit the like button if you enjoy learning alongside me!
Great News!
Milan has just begun an ambassador program! So if my videos help you make a decision to join the program, I'd love it if you'd use my referral link. It's no additional costs to you, and I get a nice little $300 referral fee to put towards new canvases!

Yes! It's amazing what a different color, a brushstroke, a highlight can make all the difference.

Thank you :) I've been casually pursuing art for about 8 years up to now, so I've had a little practice :) I'm determined to master it all!

Thanks. It was a challenge, I'm not sure this technique is for me, but glad I have it in my toolbox :)

I love painting clouds too! I've painted many clouds in acrylic in the past but found that I could not blend very easily in large pieces, which was frustrating. Now that I am using oils more often, I also enjoy painting clouds. Your painting is lovely, my radiant underpainting and subtraction assignment was a disaster, LOL! Keep it up, you are doing very well. By the way, I love your hair!

I really do want to go back over all of my poor acrylic cloudy skies and punch them up with some oil. Especially one I did that was all clouds and the gates of heaven... if I had oils at the time I would have saved myself a lot of headache :) Thanks for the compliments on both my painting and my hair.. .not sure which pleases me more :)

Thank you! I still don't know whether the course it "worth it" but I do like what I'm getting exposed to up to this point, and I'm glad I invested the money. I don't think I'd have tried oils yet if I hadn't taken the course- and this weekend I went and painted a live model in oils- and it's pretty good :) I definitely would not have done that had I not taken the course. Whatever you decide- just keep making art! 💜
