Wholeheartedly agree. It's not just understanding through speech but also connecting with the culture which is vital for any resident of Japan.

Language is not only a communication tool, but also the way people think. Learning languages broadens your perspective. That's why learning languages are important even if you have AI or if you're a native English speaker.

Thank you, Gekko from Valorant. 🔥 No but this is actually great advice, learning the language of the places you visit gives you a much better experience in so many ways.

In an emergency you might want to be able to read the exit signs as well. If you get ill you will need to speak to a doctor.

I came here with no experience and learned Japanese from people around me. As a result ive got a more natural sounding dialect than textbook Japanese. Also "we foreigns" isn't a think. Foreigners in Japan are from wildy different cultures and communities. We're not all the same so we don't all think and act the same.

No need to put down others my friend. English may not be his main language. He’s doing his best. Let’s try to encourage others to keep learning and to try since it’s part of learning…and making mistakes are also a part of it. May you have a great day and I hope you can make this world a better place than you left it.

Yea but learning Japanese writing is extremely difficult. I’d be totally illiterate in Japan
@Mobik_8 сағат бұрын
takes some time but is not "extremely difficult". In around 2 years you'll be able to read light manga, 3 years to read things online and maybe even some news articles.
