Man, this is literally my dream keyboard. Since I'm a teenager I can't afford it though lol. Hopefully it'll still be around by the time I am able get a job and save up some money.

Charming overview of the ins and outs, though I can't get the picture of the hammer out of my mind.

It's got a nice smooth gradient on the keyboard. Really helps you *feeel* like Spiderman

that global brightness feature sounds something to go on exploring.

4k for a midi controller, however interesting, is crazy no matter what you put in it...

i guess my biggest question is, does this have to be hooked into a computer running a DAW to play? this seems amazing but i would prefer to just be able to play it outright without having to create a setup around it

You've got options in that case. Doesn't require a computer, no, but it IS a controller a heart. There are a lot of small analog/digital synth and sampler options you can use instead of a computer and just plug directly into the back of it. We wanted Lumatone to be sound agnostic -- everybody likes different sounds!

Needs a smoke color keys option. Any chance the key caps are removable for future customization?
@lumatone

The key caps ARE removeable and replaceable yes. All sorts of thing in the future are possible, including tactile keys for the blind, different materials and weightings, etc.

How should I do this if I want to play it through a speaker? Do I need an audio interface? Is Focusrite Scarlett Solo (3rd Gen) USB Audio Interface with Pro Tools good? Also, can I play the microtonal scales through a speaker without a computer?

Hi Eliseo, these are all great questions, and most of the answers can be found in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZnOWXnuFprarnLs A computer or an analog synth that supports microtonality is the best way to play microtonal scales without a computer.

You said "wondrous machine." Do you know Henry Purcell's song, "Wondrous Machine?" In that song he calls the pipe organ a "wondrous machine."

Sadly it doesn't have a built in speaker, or any sound output for that matter, so unfortunately it's not gonna be useful for me at this moment
