Definition of maf'ul bih and its division
Maf'ul bih is the isim that must be read by the nashab which is the object of the perpetrator's actions (fa'il). Isims that can act as maf'ul bih vary, including the isim dzahir and dhamir, both in the form of mufrad (unit), mutsanna and plural (plural taksir, plural mudzakkar salim and plural muannats salim).
Signs of nashab maf'ul bih vary depending on the type of isim. There are signs with the harakat fathah dzahirah (obvious) or muqadarrah (approximately because of the cause), and there are also letters.
There are differences of opinion among scholars in determining amil from maf'ul bih:
• According to ام الضرير: 'Amil who menashabkan maf'ul bih that is fa'il
• According to الفراء: Amil who menashabkan maf'ul bih namely fi'il and fa'il
• According to the majority of scholars' nahwu: Amil who use maf'ul bih, namely fi'il
One amil can have two or three maful bih depending on the type of fi'il muta'addnya.
