DBFZ was the first 2D fighting game I learned. Getting put into a 30 second combo after making 1 mistake was brutal.

Yeah DBFZ is a little rough like that. I've played a lot of street fighter which is way more footsies so DBFZ was terrifying to start (it still is).

banger video as always, king! how would you recommend learning fighters in general? I'm trying to learn Tekken and am struggling in regards to how to actually approach the learning process, since whenever I try and learn combos, I find myself using it over and over again despite the situations i find myself in

The best way to learn is to learn one consistent easy combo you won't miss. If you have this, then you can start winning games. When you watch top players they do all these mega advanced combos, but theres a reason that mfs that grind training room dont win games, and its because neutral is so much more important. If you can learn how to play neutral and read your opponent, then you can have the worst combos in the world and still win ykwim. So I'd say learn one combo and then just focus on knockdown mixups, approaches, utilising grabs etc.

I'm starting to understand some of this stuff, I reckon I'd do well if I picked up the game now!

Hey man it’s rly cool to still see new players learning this game, this was the first FG I learned as former Smash player, was wondering if you’d like to play some matches together/and or make a video, I could teach you some stuff as I’ve been playing the game for quite a while now

I'm taking a couple week break from the DBFZ content to focus on a couple guilty gear videos but after that I'll definitely consider it!

Hey man, I thought your video learning how to play the game was really cool, there's usually a lot of content from guys who already have advanced knowledge in the game, but you're evolving in the game and sharing your experience, that's really cool. I've been playing DBFZ for a short time, and I'm consuming a lot of tutorial content and training in training mode, I have a personal plan of topics that I intend to study/train to play the game, I'll share it with you and put a reference link for each topic , if it makes sense to you, take a look later man, and good gaming :) 0 - command notation, very useful for saving/learning combos - kzbin.info/www/bejne/hXy7XqGXe66cd7c 1 - train B&B/BnB aerial combo - kzbin.info/www/bejne/l5XcmmmHpdtseNk - kzbin.info/www/bejne/r3TKZ3V5iJuBma8 - note: in the BnB combo you can use MLL OR LML, it depends on what you think is best, I personally just use LM (it gives less damage) in the windows I have, it's easier and guaranteed not to drop the combo 2 - understand neutral, how assistance influences the shift - kzbin.info/www/bejne/pIDbdHyPia-Yers 3 - train block (against Super dash, over head, Dragon rush, footsies) - kzbin.info/www/bejne/jp_cp32Lm72tjas - kzbin.info/www/bejne/hJXammh8gLqBh6c 4 - train blockstring/mixup applying pressure using assistance - kzbin.info/www/bejne/e5yTpqqqeLd9qck * - extra topic, a video about how frame data works in fighting games, helps to better understand the concept of "turn" in the game - kzbin.info/www/bejne/qZPchoBrlrx-ps0
