absolutely fantastic video! next time please add minecraft's iconic X-Y-Z shadows on the cube faces! explanation: minecraft shades all worlds in a specific manner in which all blocks and I mean literally all blocks have preset shadows applied to them. north faces look slightly darker, west faces look way darker, etc. etc... experiment in minecraft to find out more

You forgot to mention that mip-mapping is essential for preventing ugly texture aliasing artifacts. Even if you wanted to waste GPU power to draw every texture at it's full resolution, it would look awful as soon as two neighboring screen pixels start skipping over multiple texture pixels.

Personally, I prefer RayLib to raw OpenGL, but I also stick with plain ol' C. Although, I can't wait to see what kind of game you make. I'm hoping you do a tactical RPG, but that's just because that's my favorite type of game.

SFML can't handle perspective projection and depth buffers, which are essential for modern 3D graphics, so no. Though you could reimplement all those fancy things manually and draw 3D graphics pixel by pixel in SFML. I did that once, and it taught me more about how 3D rendering works under the hood than any other learning resource could.
