You're gonna interpret this as me being angry or mean but please just drop the ego for one minute and imagine the world outside of what you know about. Freedom Writers is one of the best examples of what the world in poor black neighbourhoods forgotten by society is are like. And the fact that this movie shows it from our white perspectives really put a great angle on the facts that are shown. In these kids' world their point of view is perfectly valid. Some of them have never met a white person who was genuinely good to them, and sometimes they've met some who werereally fucking nasty in an oppresive way. They only know their world, and it's completely different from your lives, and mine too. Liked, because it's great that you watch this.

Before you decide to make a reaction video, you should do research on what you will be reacting to. This entire controversy happened back in the 90s in a high school in East L.A. See, as many people want to believe that racism and segregation had been completely abolished or “under control” by the time these youths from different cultures came into their own into society during this time period, it wasn’t. It was still raging. All the hate, all the anger, all the prejudice, all the stereotypes were still alive and well. Hell, it’s now 2020 and society still refuses to acknowledge all the cruelty that was done to people from ‘minority’ (and I say the word loosely because the minority has always been the majority) backgrounds completely. Before you sit back and judge all the anger these teens are displaying or releasing, educate yourself on where it comes from first. Especially if you come from privilege. And unfortunately, most Caucasian Americans do. Most Caucasian Americans will never understand the struggles the Latinos, the African Americans, the Asians etc. etc. Experience or have to endure on a daily basis. Regardless of what year it is.

“I hate white people.” Same. And all for the same reasons Eva does.

Well, I live in Germany, and most "Ghetto" kids are actually white, here. Mostly East-Europeans. Like Russians, Polens, Turquisch people (I count them as white because the ones I've seen got pretty fair skin, basically the same as the rest, but there are people who disagree), and so on. Apart from gun shootings (which is almost impossible due to our gun regulations), it can be pretty similar to the US here, too. An entire group of people is not at fault for the idiocracy of few (well, in percentage, it is few. Way to many, still, if you ask me). If you believe whites aren't as good as any other ethnicity, you are stooping down to the level of a racist. So, please, be better then a racist. Only acceptance can open the bridges.
@INTJ10551 Жыл бұрын
We evolved from a common ancestor. Your hatred for other skin colors is outdated and extremely uneducated. You can look at the evidence with our DNA. We all originated from Africa. So you can hold your racism and live in such emotional delusions but the facts are the facts. And even if you believe in religion, you can still say that we’re from Adam and Eve. So we’re all the same species, stop pretending like we’re all different species from different planets.

You have to remember that all of these kids were the ones that no one believed in. They all had similar backgrounds and traumas and, because of that, were not performing as well as their peers academically. That's why the numbers were so weighted on the students that had been shot at. They were all put in Ms. Gruwell's English class, because she was the newest teacher and no one else wanted them. When she said it’s annoying when young people tell older people they understand that was so irritating to see. Just because they have lived longer doesn’t mean they’ve seen more. I’m 16 and I’ve seen some of the craziest things from my junky mom offering to help me find drugs at, to her forgetting me at a skating rink for hours to the point that I had to walk home with my sister scared because it was a bad area, to me having to physically try to pull her off of my sister because she was attacking her to her verbally attacking and guilt tripping me because we no longer wanted anything to do with her and her putting me in the foster care system at the age of 3 and threatening to put a bullet in my half brothers head WHO WAS A NEWBORN AT THE TIME. all that before the age of 13 and now to her sudden passing a few weeks ago and I still haven’t even hit my senior year so don’t u ever think that young people voicing their thoughts about how some older people will never understand is annoying. Because after everything I have said I’m sure you could never even begin to comprehend the things I’ve seen and those are just a few examples. I love the fact that every time I look for a reaction video no one has done it apart from you two. Well done to react to things no one else is interested in. Excellent content guys!!

Where’s your guys response to all these comments? Not one comment you respond to? Look at y’all, proving the points of the “younger generation” in the movie, “you don’t know nothing homegirl” This movie is real, real life, the class is specific group of kids, watch it, with an open mind. Man so much i’d love to say but what’s the point of it if you won’t even respond to anyone.

It’s funny how mad these white kids getting mad over a movie says a lot about you about as a couple also about your color

We evolved from a common ancestor, I suggest you study some biology and human origins. You can see the evidence from our DNA. Your comment was practically racist. It’s extremely ironic that people complain about whites being racist, but those complainers are racists themselves. It’s bad logic, it’s a uneducated world view. And even if you believe the Bible, you could say that we came from Adam and Eve, which means that we’re the same species. Doesn’t matter what color you are, which mainly has to do with your ancestry and environmental conditions due to being exposed to the energetic particles of the sun. Learn to acknowledge that we’re the same species I don’t care if you like it or not. There’re racists in every race. Many races think they’re superior, not just certain white people.

Let me illuminate you all on something, just because something is not an an experience for you, doesn't make it an invalid experience in life for other minority groups or other individuals as people you talk about how not everyone in that classroom except for one white male could have been shot at, the reason why that is so mind-boggling for the two of you is most likely because you've never experienced that in your life and you know what I have an experienced that either in my life but I am a disabled black individual whom has experienced discrimination racism ableism homophobia on a level that you could not even begin to equivocate in your life so before you completely cast aside an entire experience from a particular minority group or set of society members you need to really educate yourselves outside of the bubble that you choose to live in.

This movie was based on true events. What a horrible reaction. Maybe it’s not realistic to you but it’s very realistic to many people out there. Your ignorance is beyond me.

I mean..... the origin of the school is in L.A during the 90s..... its a pretty accurate ratio if you ask a few people from over there. But freedom writers is pretty good tho! Good review!

They were all shot at because they’re all in gangs that’s all they know they live in East LA and it’s like that it’s not unrealistic so many people die, and this was based on a true story
