I love fasting, the water fast is my choice. I’ve tried other fasting methods and for me and one day God said water and I was like are you sure God? I think I questioned God like two more times lol and He literally answered me.. water for sure and what I’ve experienced vs other ways I’ve fasted, is I hear Him so much clearer, it’s weird to me that this one which is hard and I go into it each time like “Lord take this cup from me” 😂 but He never does and once I get pass day 3 I’m so happy I didn’t listen to my flesh because i absolutely love food on every level but once I’m obedient He begins to show me things that I haven’t seen or wouldn’t see if I hadn’t plus to me in order to get through a water fast successfully, you really have no choice but to one hundred percent depend and lean on God. As to why I can’t see how people think of it as a diet and usually fail. The suffering helps to discipline me and bring my fleshy desires into submission and builds my love toward God stronger each time. But again I’m only speaking for me, this may not be for everyone

I did a 21 day fast last year for the first time. I am late this year in joining Victory’s 21 days, but starting today. What I’m still trying to understand is, spiritually, what’s different about each type of fast (21 day fast vs not eating at all)

Great question! Any fast really boils down to these few things: As we cut our dependence on physical things, we focus on the things of the Kingdom of God.
