I appreciated how honest this was, no cuts to get rid of the rusty stuff, no edits to save face. Made it very real, and all the more valuable for an aspiring aerobatic pilot. Thanks.

Sweet! Rolls look good. I'm still hesitant on aerobatics. How were the G forces in the loop?

Excellent Video- for pilots, not flashy. I will be getting some aerobatic instruction in a Pitts S2B and looked a while to find this perfect example of what to expect. It gives me a good idea of the performance too, Well done!

It's fascinating, how most people's first experience of any kind of "at will aerobatics" is "do a roll - no you lost altitude - no your heading is now off - too slow too slow!" and i'm not talking about this particular instructor, this is his job. To get you to do perfect rolls and loops. If you want to drift around later then drift around *after* you know how not to drift around, or at least know where you are drifting. But it's still shocking to see, because for a lot of people (not flyers even) flying around at will in the sky is a fundamental desire. So it's funny that when you actually first get to do it, you do it wrong haha TLDR i wonder how this would have gone down if the first 15min was just messing around to get a feel for the plane, with the pilot and computer making sure nothing dangerous happens, and then they practiced tight rolls, tight loops, etc. because by having to "always start level when you do a manoeuvre" 6:35 rather than do it free-form means you actually spend a lot less time practicing.

Hi John! I think it comes down to what people want to do. Personally for me I’m not looking at competing or doing shows. At least no time soon. I would have enjoyed more going out and just enjoying the plane. Turning and climbing freely and just having a pilot there to say ok don’t do that lol. After all for me this was all about having fun.

Do you need a special clearance from ATC to do aerobatics?
@AviatorZone

Hi Chris! Nope no clearance needed since you mostly do this outside of airport environments.
