Good 'arm chair' refresher for us all and excellent intro to those new to flying. Well done to the both of you on a really interesting and informative video.

Well done mate, out of interest how many hours before you went solo?
@BenAtkinsonVideos5 жыл бұрын
Thanks both!! Yep absolutely amazing feeling. It was 11.5hrs. Hoping to have the video with some commentary from my instructor on, because of course he’s never seen a solo from that point a view before !

Good luck Ben! It seems we're at very similar points in our training. I'm ~6 1/2 hours in, and have just passed my Air Law and HP&L exams. I'm training with Purple Aviation at Eshott, Northumberland. I've just started exercises 12 and 13 last lesson, which comprised of various go around situations and an introduction to simulated engine failures in the circuit. Lots to learn but absolutely loving it. I've subscribed (Rory's most recent video pointed me to you channel). I've just got myself a GoPro and voice recorder, so I'll be capturing my lessons soon too. I'm not brave enough to start a channel, but I'll have a go at making some videos to show off the wonderful NE scenery :)

Harry, thanks for the comments and subscribing. Certainly sounds like you’re flying (!) along with training. I need to kick on a bit more with the revision now. Ah, what a wonderful part of the world. I’ll subscribe and look out for some footage! Yes, Rory’s a good lad! I’ve just done my first solo and the video will be out next week 👍

@@BenAtkinsonVideos Thanks. I'm almost finished watching this Ep7 vid, so actually you're a few hours ahead of me. Congrats on the first solo, well done! I bet you're still buzzing! I hope to be doing my first solo around the same time frame as you; around the 10-12 hour mark, so I've still got lots of time to practice circuits and gain confidence on the radio. Thanks for the sub, but there's nothing of interest on there yet :D It's all flight sim, RC heli, and broken car sounds videos :D I've shared your channel to Microlight Pilots group on Facebook too; I'd join that if you haven't already,lots of good knowledge and banter on there.

are you still flying at kemble Ben? It's a shame that the skyranger was sold. I wanted to learn to fly in her.

Hey Tony! I am. I will get back to the videos in spring. Yeh it’s a shame but they’re taking delivery of a brand new Skyranger Nynja next month, so definitely come have a look!

I had two hours of PFL into fields - and to be honest I struggled to ID the right fields and then I kind of wanted to rush into it. How much PFL time did you do to get it right?

Sorry for the late reply - it took a while to get right....a good few sessions on it really.
