I love to think that the trail builders get to see this video and how much fun you guys had mastering their work. That berm to berm jump is so good.

As weird as this may sound...I'm glad to see you had to work on hitting all this stuff haha. I consider your ability far beyond my own, so seeing you need to work on these makes me feel better haha.

One thing I appreciate is how many times (at least on vid) that you will hit the features until you reach that level of comfort to tie the whole trail together. Great run, Gents!

Not a fan of the rebuild. Not sure why NSMBA would put a proline jump trail on the most shuttled lap on Seymour.
@scottmackay1872
@scottmackay1872 Жыл бұрын
It is not a “pro line” it’s a progressive flow trail. The only feature that is not rollable is the original rock drop which had not changed. Van can did exactly what was intended here in sessioning the trail and continue to progress. Good shredding buddy. New mods coming again this winter.

I was a bit pissed when they first rebuilt that trail and put it outside my abilities - but now seeing you and others having so much fun riding down it that I've swallowed my pride and am now loving the new woodwork on Slash as an alternative trail after Pangor or BoogieMan.

Hah, same situation, just don't have the skills/commitment to hit the new jumps but that's totally cool, I'm especially stoked to see groms sending it and building their skills, there was definitely a lack of that level of jumps on sanctioned trails for them to progress on. Hats off to builders and it seems to be holding up really well, was so many hours for that crew!

I also run a mtb channel, though much smaller than yours. I’ve started editing my videos, but I’ve run into problems, I look to your videos for ideas, but I have to ask, what software do you use? I always have trouble uploading, where it shows up blurry on KZbin. Please help! Love your videos, thank you.

Zipping along pretty good on that last run. If I'm not mistaken, your new bike has 26 inch wheels, do you think 27.5 or 29 would have made clearing any of those easier? Where I live we have no real down hill or jump lines, so that sort of trail is completely foreign to me.
@VanCan
@VanCan Жыл бұрын
The warden I’m riding is 27 and it feels a bit better on the jumps than 29.
@core-i7413
@core-i7413 Жыл бұрын
27.5" is better for jumping, as it makes the bike easier to flick around and it makes it more playful.

What is the dirt like on the shore? because those trails seem to run really fast for winter. In the UK we just had a bunch of snow and my local trails are now bogs. Not ridable at all. So I'm just curious how these are so dry.
@quinnatr39
@quinnatr39 Жыл бұрын
That trail is built with copious amounts of mineral soil (loam), dumped and packed on the riding surface. Basically a sand, silt, and a bit of clay composition (otherwise known as “gold”). Water tends to percolate through fairly quick unless saturated. Experienced trail builders have also worked very hard to ensure proper drainage. Combined with a fairly dry fall (for us), trails have been running very well… until two days ago. That trail (and the ones above that lead to it) now has significant snow on it (but was totally clear three days ago). Hoping for a warmer week and some rain to get things cleared up over the holidays…

I’m from the uk but live on the shore now. did a ride in Swinley forest on a very wet jan morning a few weeks ago with a buddy and have to say shore dirt is gold definitely better grip and drainage but it’s mainly the trail builders dedication skill and maintenance. These trails are free to ride and mostly volunteer maintained. Also the north shore gets more rain than almost anywhere in uk other than north wales.
