At first glance, it looks like a simple box. But it is much more complex IF you want it to come out clean. GREAT project Art and one that can be passed down to the kids. And as it ages from playing, it will only get better. Happy Holidays to you and the family! !! !!!

Turned out well! When I line the bottom of a box like that I prefer to wrap the fabric around a piece of foamboard or plywood so that it's a press fit. Makes a nice clean edge all the way around and if you ever have to replace it you can easily lever it out and redo it.

That is the first time that I have seen someone work with bloodwood. It looks very similar to padauk to me.

Similar amount of red dust that goes everywhere. I think this is a bit more red and padauk is a bit more orangey, but we shall see how they age.

Nice project! I get decent results for transfers using the same inverted letters from a laser printer however I use a woodburning style engraving kit (like a soldering iron) to heat from the back of the paper. Adjustable temperature ones aren’t expensive.

How is the game played?

Roll the dice and flip down number blocks that equal the amount rolled. Once you have the 7/8/9 flipped down you have the option of rolling with one die. Once you can't go, your turn is up and you pass it to the next player. If you want to keep score you write down the total number still showing. So low score wins in that case. When we've played in a group we just keep handing it around the circle until someone manages to get all 9 down. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shut_the_box
