Learning Vroid Studio - Lesson 1 : Overview

In the summer of 2018 Pixiv released Vroid Studio, a 3D anime character/virtual idol creator for free. As the tutorials are in Japanese, I thought I would help with an English series on how to use it.

I've been playing around with it for a couple of days. I exported my character and converted it so I can continue working on it in a sculpting program (3D-Coat). When it's done I'll 3D print it as a figurine.

Im a 3D generalist and this is a piece of cake for me. Im so overwhelmed by this! It saves alot of time!! Especially character modelling, rigging, nhair,ncloth, mocap and stuff haha! Also some of the animations are from Aoi character pack from unity asset store . Few of them are used in yandere simulator.

@@user-hf6tq9zz1z I think you can download it from the official vroid website and In your pc extract the files of the zip folder you downloaded and launch the vroid program. I guess thats all it. Oh you should have a good RAM for it atleast 4 gb of RAM to run the program properly.

I’m on laptop on the new version and I know how to zoom in, rotate, move the character but the one thing I’m struggling with is trying to move the presets on the left up and down and I’m having to widen the bar in order to choose certain items like hair and clothes does anyone one have a clue on what keys to press and which buttons to click cuz I’m clueless

Wait, I'm not clear on how to move the camera. I think I heard you say something about a mouse wheel, but I'm on a laptop with a track pad. I finally figured out how to rotate the camera, but I have need to know how to zoom and move up or down. It doesn't help that I apparently have a later version of the program where the controls are laid out differently.

I downloaded the program, and it runs fine for me, but for some reason I can't use my drawing tablet with it. It's an XP-Pen regular tablet without a display. I also don't have a mouse so I can't zoom in or out or do any of that jazz. Can anyone help me configure the tablet to Vroid?

I just downloaded Vroid and it won't let me move the character around like that, only zoom in/out, or turn around the character model; is there a setting or something I missed? Click and drag is not working at all EDIT: nm, for some reason I have to click on my mouse wheel to do it, rather than click and drag with my left mouse button; strange way of doing it

if you haven't already figured it out sense your comment is from 8 months ago but try holding shift + hold down left click and move it around hopefully that helps
