that colour coding makes it SO much easier to follow patches. Cool interaction between Frap and Mordax

Love this demo series. Cleared up a lot for me! Thanks!

Great lesson Chris! I do hope Mannequin modules come back in stock as they are hard to find online for sale.

I'm pretty sure that the SPAN control fully CCW in FORMANT mode actually causes the HIGH to dip lower than CENTER (and LOW comes up higher than CENTER). So if you want "one bandpass filter tuned to the same frequency ( @1:55 )" it might be a tiny bit CW on the SPAN knob.

Actually I think it's true in both modes, watching your spectrograms.

Yes - you're right. I didn't expect it to overshoot like that.

One of my favorite filters in euro. Hoping you’ll do a Linnaeus vid sometime as that’s my other favorite (and often overlooked because it’s digital)

Excellent - I learned a lot

I wonder how it sounds with audio rate modulation. Of course on the cut off frequency, but also on the span and quality controls :)
@bebop73 жыл бұрын
It sounds very good, and the attenuverter on FM input can drastically alter the character, from hollow to metallic

@@bebop7 cool :) Did you try it on the other inputs too? How are the span and quality inputs react to audio rate modulation?
@sweetearthflying3 жыл бұрын
@@distorson they all sound amazing with audio rate modulation. Self-oscillating with one of the outs feeding span produces incredible patterns on an oscilloscope

Nice. Is it a Steiner-Parker filter in crossover or Steiner-Parker implies more than routing?
@LearningModular2 жыл бұрын
The Three Sisters in crossover mode behaves somewhat similarly to the the Steiner filter, but there are big differences under the hood. The Steiner filter is a single two pole filter with three inputs. The Three Sisters is 3 pairs of two pole filters which can be reconfigured in different ways. This allows more control over where the poles of the filters are oriented in regards to each other (for example, spread apart), compared to the Steiner.

For example (from my Patreon write-up of the Three Sisters - www.patreon.com/posts/40403823): "...if you turn Quality counter-clockwise instead, it starts to mix back in the opposite outputs of each internal filter. For example, if you are in Crossover mode and using the Low filter chain, the high pass output of the two filters in that chain are progressively mixed back in until you have a notch filter. "

@@LearningModular I see. Well, that for sure makes it unique. Thx
