I think you nailed it one this one, it’s a condo on the water… with the price of real estate it may not be a bad deal for those who want that kind of lifestyle/location. This is not a long range cruiser, it does not have the tanks for it.. but for the guy who wants to go up and down the east coast as the weather changes, this is not a bad deal.

I also have a Motorhome with an 8.3L Cummins ISC. Now 25 yrs old and still runs great. Getting ready for another cross continent trip in about a month. It ‘s only 300 hp so they are pushing these further on power. They will take it but of course would last a lot longer with 150 less hp.

That's a lot of Yacht for $300k and would make an excellent live aboard. With that draft, ability to beach and clearance she'd make an excellent platform for coastal cruising and some of the enter-coastal waterways as well as heading to the Keys and Islands. The dreams real with this one but I can only imagine the upkeep and docking fees...

Hey, it has it’s purpose. I just spent a day on one (an older 53). It was being used as a day charter party boat in Lake Tahoe. It is coast guard certified for around 50 people. We had about 40 with no problem. It had a pair of 5.9 Cummings. Quite adequate up to about 10-12 kts. Easy cruise of 9. It has it’s place. Every boat is a set of compromises. You just have to find what fits you.

I had a neighbor at a marina I kept a large boat at who had just a slightly larger model Bluewater, it was a 65 footer. Bluewaters are surely unique boats. The one thing I am not crazy about is that lower control station, but if you experience bad weather or are on a long trip, its definitely nice to be out of the weather. They do ride and handle nicely and having the shafts, props and rudders set in the tunnels so they have a shallow draft is surely nice in many places that an owner might be based at or cruise to like the Keys. This would make a good Looper boat for a couple.

I have always thought Bluewater made a pretty boat. It's essentially a houseboat with exterior design ques for a motor yacht. I am curious what the fuel burn is (gal/hour) at cruise and what the cruise speed is. My taste in boats is sailing but this is a pretty cool boat for a dock condo.
@srqlife2 жыл бұрын
these are amazingly stable boats! very low CG like a sail boat, minus the keel...i have run these boats for over 30 years in the gulf and Atlantic and in the Bahamas and have never been in anything they wont handle! Just ran a 5800 earlier this year across the gulf from LA to FL and ran into 4-6's off the coast of san blas point and she handled them like a champ with that deep V entry and reverse chines and bow flare turned the waves back down as it sliced through the waves.... top deck and spacious interior is great for parties of 20-30ppl and the 8.3 cummins turbos cruise these boats at 20 with top speeds on plane upwards of 30! Sad Bluewater couldnt survive the late 2000s recession.....50 year old company building bluewaters gone! great video and if you'd like to do one of these running, offshore, just let me know!

HI - love the yachts that are "different". I don't think I'd want this but it is interesting - if I see something you are touring and I'm going WTF?? Its great. I love to see what people do and what can be done. I'm surprised the number of people who think this is a shopping channel. Complaining that some boat here isn't a good value is silly. First impression was wow a live aboard jet ski...very unusual boat and lines... now waiting to hear if its a waterjet boat or has recessed props like lifeboats to allow beaching or protection from impacts. The marble effect flooring seems to jar and date it a bit, I would tend to want to lean into a bit more futuristic style but this would make a perfect boat for someone who can use its shallow draught to access places that others could never dream of. You could cause chaos passing over sandbars and 🏞️ banks ...leading unsuspecting boaters astray 😂 or getting right onto a 🏝️ sandy beach 🏖️😁😎

Bluewaters are not considered offshore boats, don't even think about taking them through a cut to the ocean. Inland waterways, yes, Lakes, yes, crossing various sounds on the right day, yes. There is rarely a time when Shallow Draft = good blue water boat. For 350K there are so many amazing boats that will take you to the Bahamas and Keys.

Personal Opinion from a Marine Service who worked on many Blue water boats. To preface this I must say that it is a Glorified Pontoon boat. The construction of the interior looks nice,Yet if you look closer, it's more like a Motor home or a High end RV. Personally I would Never own one. And if you read reviews on them, the manufacturer has claimed that it is an offshore capable vessel! Many if the walls ( bulkheads) are constructed with house building lumber, and Thousands if patio deck screws. I will say at present, I haven't had anything to do with them after1999. One in particular made a trip from Key West FL. And by the time it arrived in Ft Myers the swim platform had sagged and was only being held by the fiberglass all bulkheads had failed, numerous windows had separated, the Hull to deck port and starboard separated, and the company totalled the vessel. The best part of the boat was the Cummins Engines! I don't want to cover the millennia of fails with this Vessel, and will just say, it's a very Nice houseboat that needs to stay in calm waters or never take it to sea in over 3 foot Seas unless you are going at the minimum speed to give it way! The Damage done to this boat was running in 5 to 6 ft seas. This in my opinion is Not a long range cruiser at All. Just my opinion from having worked on a dozen of them. The particular vessel mentioned had the rubrails windows doors Sealed.From there, it was taken to a boatyard and think it may have been totalled. Should Anyone have an interest in these vessels,make sure to have a Very Keen Surveyor inspect the boat before purchasing one. Perfect for inland waters and weekends. Never offshore.
@JohnAdams-qc2ju2 жыл бұрын
That boat isn't worth it. If I had to guess for real world travel you couldn't carry enough gas to go - basically is a boat where your locked to maybe the islands below FL and making some parts of Mexico & South America (not many). However, if you can afford the gas you could travel around North & South America - just need to plan your refueling stops carefully. That is why people who want to travel buy sailboats (and honestly cats more since your mostly flat not at 25degree angle all the time) so you can get away from the gas and it only be a backup option and used in harbors. For how long this boat is - it is extremely narrow so you'd have to be very careful of storms as I'm sure that boat will like it will tip over in 6ft+ seas.

Firstly to Jordan, $329000 in Australi🇦🇺 would be working very hard to buy a one bedroom appt., only dbl. bed size + basic ensuite + maybe a single car space if very lucky. Sydney or Melbourne waterfront? Save your time and money, give up before you start. Your words, Jordan, echo those of my dear sailing father who used to say: "A house is nothing but a very badly built boat that has dropped the bloody anchor permanently onto and into the suburb!" I agree with that statement 👍. All that being said, I have a couple of criticisms of this boat. 1. I couldn't quite make out where the spot that led to your comment about falling is but I am 💯 certain that I would never agree to pay for a view like that anywhere, land or sea. 2. No stabilisers? I would be prepared to pay up to $50,000 more for the assurance that I could safely take the boat outside the 12 mile limit bearing in mind that I'm pretty sure that she would probably roll her guts out in any kind of 🌊.

What we enjoy seeing is slow-panned or still footage that is VERY STEADY. Enough time (3 to 20 seconds) while you talk about what it is we're looking at.
