www.learnreason.com In this video I talk about what an ekit is and show how to program your Alesis Trigger I/O to work with the NNXT in Reason. Then I show you some things you can do in the NNXT to dial in the triggers.

I must say that your tutorial was so thorough. You say it in a Layman's language even though I'm very technical it was very easy to translate mentally. I'm new to e drumming however I'm not new to production tools especially MIDI. I'm going to pick up the trigger pretty soon thank you very much.

Most comprehensive edrumming walkthrough ive seen yet, and I've literally watched dozens. I use ableton live personally, but I got the answers I was looking for that other tutorials did not address. Great video.

Matt! Great to see. I built myself a MegaDrum module, man that took too much time. Dressed my drum set up like a Ludwig oyster. (Richard Starkey style). I just tend to stick with Superior Drummer. In Reason, of course 😎👍
@LearnReason4 жыл бұрын
Cool, I love superior drummer, its good that we can use in as a CST/AU now in Reason.

@LearnHowToReason can you make a video about using reason with m-audio mpcs? specifically tools within reason that utilize the pads on m-audio pro keyboards

I think James J is wondering how you set up Reason for finger drumming using the pads on an MPK keyboard, which should just be a matter of assigning samples to the pads using MIDI.

Can you use any edrum kit brain with midi ports to remap the drums or do you have to have a separate I/O?

Hey thinking about purchasing an alesiss nitro kit with mesh pads. I tried connecting my friends nitro kit to reason, but we could not find the driver for it in reason10 so the midi mapping was very confusing to set up. Any tips on this specific kit model?

The module needs to be set it can contact to Reason look in the manual on how that module does this. My DM10 had to be set to Omni.

Hi Which Reason version and cymbals model "CY" are you using in that video? Thank you

I am not sure but it is a drum set from a NNXT preset that comes stock in Reason. That's the best I can offer sorry.

Hey man! will the triggers pick up hypersampled drums (i.e velocity-sensitive) also, would the hi-hat pedal pick up all the variations of a opened-closed hat etc? I wanted to do this with Reason drumkits 2.0.
@LearnReason7 жыл бұрын
Martyn Webb The trigger I/O does very well at triggering, it is not as good at triggering as a Roland TD20,30 or 50 but for the money it does a great job and it triggers Reason drums very well. Just know the better the trigger you buy the better the triggering and feel will be.
@martynwebb077 жыл бұрын
LearnReason thanks for your response. Apologies, I already have an e kit. I was wondering when you plug an e kit into reason, If reason will pick up hypersampled drums? Because reason drumkits2.0 are hyper sampled. The same with a hi hat pedal from an e kit. Will reason pick up all the intermediate variations of an open and closed hi hat with reason drum kits 2.0 Hope that makes sense dude.

Sure it's good with most any pad, you will just need to take the time to setup the pad in the I/O.

Yeah like you show how to assign your edrums, how to assign things like the kong to the pads on midi controls

Question, Can I use the IO like a trigger module? for example, Can I connect the IO straight to the amplifier?
@LearnReason3 жыл бұрын
It's a trigger module it puts out no sound so no you can not hook it up to an amplifier.

With your help everything works except electronic high hat pedal. Are you doing anything special? Am I missing something? Have a Yamaha DD75 hooked up with HH65.
@LearnReason3 жыл бұрын
I would look in the manual for the module you have and make sure the midi output for the HH is set right.

When you say that you can assign them to a channel, why would you do that? You lead us up to the why, but don't finish off that sentence. Why would you group all the ride or all the HH?
@LearnReason11 жыл бұрын
Not sure I understand you? Pads on a midi control is not eDrumming, it's just pads like the keys.
