Thank you. Actually if the expression will be right then if you will come out the expression window then it won't show you any error and in case if the expression is not correct, as soon as you will leave the expression window and if you just press lower arrow key in your laptop to go outside the expression window then the expression window for that column where you written the expression will show you the error message and if you will move your mouse on the expression then it will show you the error.

The expression cannot be parsed. It might contain invalid elements or it might not be well-formed. There may also be an out-of-memory error. Error at Data Flow Task [Derived Column [96]]: Cannot parse the expression "(DT_STR,50,1252)RIGHT( @[User::Filepath],FINDSTRING(REVERSE(@[User::FilePath]),"\\",1) - 1)". Hi, as the error says FilePath is not found in the variable collection. Can you please check if FilePath SSIS variable is there ?

@@learnssis actually I created a filepath variable in ssis

@@ericsos101 Make sure that that the name of variable is correct, it is FilePath. variables are case sensitive. Also while creating a variable make sure that you have not clicked on a task, otherwise the variable will be restricted for that scope only. Before creating an SSIS variable left click on Control flow so that none of the task will be selected and then create the SSIS variable.
