1) khadar - flood areas like bihar ( due to kosi ) , jk ( due to damodar ) new alluvial deposits 2) Titaniferous magnetite - responsible for black color of soil ( genrally silica is less is fluid lava so metallic content increases ) 3) crystalline rock - plutonic rocks like granite. course grains generally more than 0.5mm ex granuals and sand 4) crack - it develops in black soil as it has more water holding capacity.. generally in summer due to loss of moisture cracks are developed 5) self ploughing - due to cracks when rain occurs ploughing is done automatically 6) tamil nadu - have highly red soil regions and have little laterrite regions also due to presence of hills like jawadi , shemroy , panchmalai , shirumalli and palani hills 7) chashew + leaching - as in areas of laterite soil slope is high so ploughing can't be done =] we have to do plantations like cashew , coffee, tea etc..

Alluvial soil - transported soils generally found in areas where riverine flow is there example up , bihar and jk due to Ganges and yamuna , assam due to Brahmaputra, rajasthan due to luni and eastern ghats due to eastward flow of rivers like mahanadi , godavari , krishna , kaveri etc Generally have less nitrogen ( due to excess green revolution crops like wheta and rice are not leguminous crops ) phosphorus and humus content Way ahead - for increasing humus and nitrogen content there is need to cultivate leguminous crops like soybeans, lentils and peas . I.e crop rotation with wheat and rice And khadar - where flood occurs new soil added like bihar ( flood due to kosi river ) Bhangar due to excess green revolution and relatively high altitude less chances of flood

Laterite soil mean brick Coarse gain type soil red and harder suitable for cashew and coffee , find in slope are where having high temperature and high rainfall like western ghats little area. N , P low , Fe and Al more in there. Dried soil __ Rajasthan Growing __ millet Marshy soil __ jute Forest soil __ Himalayan hilly area Growing saffron , different texture. Have humus but lackness of doil on hills.
