Yeah someone I know set a limit of mehr for $250,000 and then she started insulting the groom’s family. And then telling him he is a loser as he doesn’t make $500,000 per year and she can’t love without her lifestyle. End result: divorce.

About HAQ MEHR. I explained that khula is of two types.. One where there is a serious issue like abuse, infidelity, incompetence etc. Then qadi (judge) declares divorce. In this case the women is entitled to the haq mehr. If the woman is taking khula without any solid reasons like maybe she is incompatible with him or she doesn't like him etc than she is not entitled to haq mehr

@@NasirandFatima well clearly there was domestic abuse in the marriage and now that man is asking for haq meher after I have filed for khula. Is there anything you could help me with? Any helpline or anything please. He prolonged the process of divorce just to take haqmeher back and I'm living in a rental property.

What if a girl got divorced after nikkah and she has no physical relationship with her husband, will it still obligatory for the man to pay haq mehar ? Please answer and guide me 🙏

You may ask the widow if there was some discussion between her and the husband during the marriage time or later about the haq mehr amount. If they never had such a discussion during his lifetime, it means the widow never cared for her right of haq mehr during his lifetime. So as a good will gesture, she may just forgive the haq mehr now. We'd also ask you to consult some scholar/aalim near you for more information. May Allah guide.
