I took it upon myself to translate as best as I could. My Darija knowledge is far from perfect, but I had a go. I also included a transliteration into the Arabic script if you're interested, and broke down some of the grammar and vocabulary in the sentences for you. Hello, how are you? Today I want to share with you an excursion, a trip I went on to the (outskirts) of Tinghir, you may know what Tinghir is, the city of Tinghir. The Toudgha gorges. I’m currently above the gorges, as in, at the top of the gorges. One of the places is beautiful, let me film the place I’m in for you, alright, it’s a bit tricky. We are here, as you can see there is the river. Down there is the river of the Toudgha gorges. It’s honestly an awesome place. Those are my friends, as you can see they're far away, our cameraman is Rachid, and my friend Abdulhalim. Honestly, it’s beautiful, and you’re welcome to come here to Tinghir and come on this trip. Right now we’re walking for about ... to climb up the mountain, there’s a rope path which goes from these places, up to the other (?), but we didn’t use the rope, we ... we came up on foot from the mountain, it was around two hours of walking. It’s worth it, though, it honestly is worth you seeing it, because there’s (stuff to see), there’s the mountain, the views. Later I’ll add some photos for you, it’s honestly beautiful, it’s awesome. Well, shall I get back from here? It’s a bit tricky here, you’ll see .. well it looks like there’s a slope, a far away place. You see one of the places is far away, but honestly beautiful, the view is beautiful, I’ll do a panoramic shot for you. This is beautiful. Ssalam w 3alikum - Peace be upon you Ki dayrin? - How are you? (Plural) Kulshi mzian? - Is everything well? Lyouma bghit nshark - Today I want to share Wa7d lmoghamara - One of the adventures Wa7d rri7la drtha - One of the trips I did (‘dar - ydir’ is the Darija verb for ‘to do’, as opposed to MSA ‘fa3ala - yaf3alu’) L nnawa7i dyal Tinghir - To the (outskirts) of Tinghir (Not sure about the meaning of ‘nnawa7i’ - I took a guess with context) (‘dyal’ = ‘of’, also sometimes shortened to just ‘d’) Imkn kat3rfu ashna hiya Tinghir, mdint Tinghir - You may know what Tinghir is, the city of Tinghir (‘ashna’, if I'm correct, is made up of ‘ash’ ‘what’ + ‘inha’ ‘she is’ - feminine because of the gender of Tinghir) Les gorges dyal Toudgha - The gorges of Toudgha (‘les gorges’, as you can tell, is from French) W ana daba fuq les gorges - And I am now on the gorges (Note ‘daba’ as opposed to MSA ‘al2aan’ and ‘fuq’ - from MSA ‘fawqa’ - as opposed to MSA ‘3alaa’) Y3ni lqimma dyal les gorges - Meaning the top of the gorges (‘y3ni’ is the Arabic equivalent of the English filler word ‘like’, used in all dialects from what I can tell) Wa7d lblaSa zwina - One of the places is beautiful Ghadi nSuwwr likum lblaSa lli ana fiha - I am going to film for you the place that I am in (‘ghadi’ + the present tense minus the initial k- gives you the future tense in Darija) (‘lli’, or ‘illi’ in full, is the relative pronoun in Darija, and is the only one, used in place of MSA ‘alladhi’, ‘allati’ and ‘alladhin’) Wakha shwiya s3iba - Ok it’s a little difficult (‘wakha’ is very common in Darija, and means ‘ok’) (‘shwiya’ is Darija for ‘a little’, like ‘qaliilan’ in MSA) (MSA ‘Sa3b’ changes to ‘S3ib’ in Darija) 7na hna - We are here Kima katshufu hna lwad - As you can see this the river (I think ‘kima’ is a combination of Darija ‘ki’, meaning ‘how’, and MSA ‘ma’, meaning ‘what’) Lt7t tmma lwad dyal les gorges dyal Toudgha - Down there is the river of the Toudgha gorges (Note Darija ‘tmma’ for ‘there’ as opposed to MSA ‘hunaak’) Sara7a, blaSa ra2i3a - Honestly, it’s an awesome place (‘sara7a’ literally means ‘honesty’ but is used as ‘honestly’ here) (Note ‘blaSa’ from Spanish ‘plaza’) Hadu S7abi - These are my friends (Note Darija ‘sa7b - s7ab’ as opposed to MSA ‘Sadiiq - aSdiqaa2’) Kima katshufu b3ad - As you can see they’re far away LmuSuwwir dyalna ssi Rachid w Sa7bi Abd l7alim - Our cameraman is Rachid and my friend Abdulhalim (‘muSuwwir’ is literally ‘one who takes photos’) (‘dyalna’ features ‘dyal’ - ‘of’ - like before, plus the suffix ‘-na’ to make ‘our’ - literally ‘of us’) (Note ‘ssi’ - could also be transliterated as ‘se’ - from French ‘c'est’) Sara7a, hadshi zwin - Honestly, this is beautiful (‘hadshi’ means ‘this’ and is used when this word doesn't come before a noun) (Note Darija ‘zwin’ as opposed to MSA ‘jamiil’) W mr7ba bikum, tjiw l 3ndna l tinghir w tdiru had lkhrja hadi - And welcome to you all, come to us to Tinghir and do this outing (‘mr7ba bikum’ is literally ‘welcome’, but I think it’s being used here as ‘you are welcome to...’) (Note ‘tdiru’, from ‘dar’, like above) 7na daba kanmshaw tqriban shi - We are now walking approximately Bash nTl3u l jbl kayna Tariqa dyal lHbl - For us to get up the mountain there is a path of rope (‘bash’ means ‘in order to’, like MSA ‘lakiyy’) (‘kayna’ means ‘there is’, from the verb ‘kan - ykun’ - it is feminine to match the gender of ’Tariqa’) Lli kayTl3o mn had lblayS hadu - Which comes up from these places (Note the broken plural of ‘blaSa’, which is ‘blayS’) KayTl3o l jjiha l khra - It goes up to the other (?) (I don’t know what ‘jjiha’ is) Walakin 7na ma drnash l7bl, drna - But we didn’t do the rope (path), we did (Note the Darija negation ‘ma verb-sh’) Tl3na b rrjl mn jjbl tqriban shi sa3tayn dyal la marche - We came up by foot from the mountain approximately some two hours of walking (’shi’ means ‘some’ in Darija, as opposed to MSA ‘ba3D’) (Note ‘la marche’ from French) Walakin kaysta7q, Sara7atan kaysta7q bash tshufuh - But it’s worth it, it’s honestly worth you seeing it (‘ista7q - ysta7q’ from MSA ‘ista7aqa - yusta7iqu’) (Note the tanween on ‘Sara7atan’ - this may be considered slightly more proper) (Note the final ‘-h’ on ’tshufuh’ - ‘you all see it’) 7it kayn ma itshaf, kayn jjbl, kaynin lmanaDir - Because there’s (stuff to see), there’s the mountain, there are the views (‘7it’ is the Darija word for ‘because’, as opposed to MSA ‘li2anna’) (I’m not sure about ‘ma itshaf’, but I think it may mean ‘stuff to see’, literally ‘what to be seen’) (Note ‘kaynin’ in the plural to match the plural noun ‘manaDir’) Mn b3d ghadi nzid likum shi tSawr - Later I’ll add some photos for you (‘mn b3d’ - ‘from after’) (‘zad - yzid’ is the Darija verb for ‘to add’) Sara7atan shi 7aja zwina, shi 7aja ra2i3a - Honestly something beautiful, something awesome (‘shi 7aja’ means ‘something’, literally ‘some thing’ - as opposed to MSA ‘shay2an ma’) Yallah daba ghadi nrj3 mn hna? - My god, shall I get back from here now? Hna shwiya s3ib, ghadi tshufu - It’s a bit tricky here, you’ll see Wakha kayban hakka rah kayn mon7adar, blaSa b3ida - Ok it seems like there’s a slope, a far away place (‘ban - yban’ is the Darija verb for ‘to seem’) (‘hakka’ I’m not sure about, but may be from MSA ‘hakadha’ - ‘like this’) (‘rah’ = ‘he is’ or ‘it is’, but I’m not sure of its function in this sentence) Tshuf wa7d lblaSa b3ida, walakin Sara7a zwin, lmanDar zwin - You see one of the places is far away, but it’s honestly beautiful, the view is beautiful Gha ndir likum wa7d lview panoramik - I’ll do a panoramic shot for you (‘gha’ is the shortened form of the future tense marker ‘ghadi’) Zwin hadshi - This is beautiful
