Thanks for the info, Dave. I am currently leasing a 2019 Ram 1500 but am considering going back to Chevy (former Silverado owner) after my lease is up in 2021. May get a Tahoe or another Silverado depending on cost and other things when the time comes. The dealer I leased the Ram from told me outright I would have to put new tires on the car before I turned it in or risk get charged for that. Put a bad taste in my mouth right from day 1. They also have a disposition fee which I don’t care for either but I guess every brand has that for obvious reasons. Regardless, thanks for the info! I may be coming to visit you in 2021 for my next vehicle. What is your next vehicle going to be?

Hi Dave, love your channel! I just returned a 2016 Silverado lease for another 2019 model lease. I swapped out the tires on the 2016 as soon as I got it to a very slightly bigger BFG KO2. I would say it was a huge upgrade and they have tons of tread as I was 15k under my allotted mileage. Will I get dinged for that because of the different tires? Thanks!
@DaveBsellsChevy5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching Mike. Different tires should be no problem.. it's just about the tread depth.

Hi Dave. Good advice ! Especially the one on the garage opener ! One Q. If you are under mileage on your GM lease on turn in, do you gain any mileage on the next GM lease ? or anything else ? or just lose it ? Thanks Dave. Have a great training run this week !
@amielawson83445 жыл бұрын
Douglas Butz I wonder that too. Mine is way below.
@DaveBsellsChevy5 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately you don't get any value back if your mileage is under.... however, very rarely, I have had clients get a check back from the bank after the lease because they returned it with such low miles that when the car sold at auction it sold for more than the bank was allowed to keep, so they refund the difference to the client.

What sucks is that you don’t get paid a dime when someone comes in to return a lease. The customer has 10,000 questions. You don’t sell a car. And you waste 2 hours of your day. Fuck leases.
@DaveBsellsChevy2 жыл бұрын
Yes, in sales there are plenty of times that you spend time with a client for what may seem like no reason... But it is still a client interaction which is a learning experience. Also, people will remember that you gave them the time while other sales people may have just blew them out. You never know when they may come back because they remembered you gave them your time.

My leased Chevy Equinox is up in Feb. I never received the card you use to check the tires, scratches, and windshield. My car not no dents, scratches, or dings. However the tires tread looks low. I don't understand why, the car only has 15,686 miles on it. I had the service done twice at the dealer where they changed the oil and rotated the tires. The tire pressure has always been checked and accurate.
@DaveBsellsChevy3 жыл бұрын
Hey Ronny, you can use a penny. Insert the penny straight and heads down into different parts of the tread. If the tread blocks Lincoln's hair you should be good. I just put a penny up to the lease return card and you can see Lincoln's forehead just below the hairline.
@rrs26a3 жыл бұрын
@@DaveBsellsChevy I tried this using a quarter, I had seen that online. It looks like the tires are low. I never seen tires that wear so bad driving only 16,000 miles.

I have a Cadillac lease to which the lease is up in late May, financed through GM Financial. Mine is low miles and immaculate. Can I turn this in at any GM dealership? I need to enhance my odds at not getting gouged with fees (lots of examples out there). I may need to walk and consider other vehicles. I'll probably buy my lease. But if the current lease return incentives are great enough, might lease again. Credit at 750 average. Ample income and perfect 4-year payment history with GM Financial.
@DaveBsellsChevy2 жыл бұрын
Hey Christopher. Yes, you can turn the lease into any GM Dealership. The new leases would for sure be more. Buying your lease and keeping it for a bit may be the best option. If you are near West Palm I have a friend at a Cadillac dealer there.
@c2jones2 жыл бұрын
@@DaveBsellsChevy Thank you for your insights. The car is a 2018 ATS Turbo Sedan. 17,500 miles. Premium paint. Mint condition. New tires. GM is offering rather stellar incentives for lease returnees. I was offered over $3k in incentives and they matched CarMax's best quote for equity value. (Although GM has disallowed lease buyouts from non GM dealers.) But the payment on a new CT4 (which replaced the ATS) is $100.00 more per month despite the incentives. So, the best deal is buying out (financing) my existing car. To offset this, many dealers are getting carried away with makeshift fees, Cadillac being amongst them. I need to be prudent and wary. I have to be able to walk, which means another GM dealer. I am in Broward County. Dealer is Ed Morse. I have a solid relationship with the GM, but his business is probably the business of the dealership. I have until the 26th of May. Need to refine the approach. Love your channel.

I leased from 1994 - 2004 5 different Chevy's. All worked out well (never over on miles and no damages). It was all fine and dandy until I decided to stop leasing and purchasing again. Then I had to come up with very large down payments to replace those leases. That is one of the downsides to leasing that I've never seen anyone address. One of my 3 year 36,000 mile leases I only drove 8,000 total miles. Not wise on my part. Leasing is very attractive because of the lower monthly payments over purchasing. Great video.
@trojandude31275 жыл бұрын
for me leasing is like wasting your money. Yes it has lower monthly but it won't be yours at the end of the contract but you may have a choice to buy it (in reality will be way costly than the current worth of the vehicle- another unwise decision). Buying a vehicle is more practical (I prefer used cars), you don't have restrictions for the mileage, also has a good warranty and you can keep it as long as you want. after 60 months of paying it's all yours. no more monthly payment unlike doing the another lease again and again..
@DaveBsellsChevy5 жыл бұрын
Yea, there is pros and cons to leasing vs buying. Even with myself, this Volt was leased and the one I currently drive I purchased. Back in 2017 the lease program was so strong it made sense to lease it, in 2018 when I got the 2nd Volt the lease was over $100 more than the 2017 so to me it made more sense to buy it... plus I got in just before the $7500 government tax credit expired.

Hi Dave, I am thinking of terminating my Chevy Cruze 2018 lease with just 28,000 kms with around $8,000 left. My contract ends January, 2023 but I am planning on getting a new Buick but this time Financed. Is it a good idea of terminating a lease this early or should I really wait until I am over with my lease? This concern prompted up when the service informed me that I should replace my brake pads which are a good $700 to 800 or so.
@DaveBsellsChevy4 жыл бұрын
It'll probably be costly to end it. but once you start going over the kms that can be costly too..

I got lucky when I returned my Malibu back in March and didn't get charged for any excess wear and tear. I had gotten rear ended twice with thankfully nothing more than cosmetic damage but I expected there was enough paint scuffs and stuff like that to warrant a charge. Instead I got hit 4 months later for my 1800 mile overage totaling about $450 which I expected but it took so long for the bill to show up that I though I was getting off without being billed for it.

Glad you found the video. You can totally lease a new car a week or two before the current one is up and many brands have "competitive lease" rebates where you will save extra if you are leaving one brand for another. If you are going with the same brand but different dealer see if they have a "lease loyalty" rebate.
