Great Tutorial..thanks....... I get all the way to the Cost Path step, but the output comes out with a High: inf when I run "for each cell" if I change to "Best Single" I get a result of 1, but no path.....can't see what is wrong :(

I am investigating the effects of newly constructed rural roads by constructing a least-cost path between villages and the nearest available road. Hence, I have to construct the least-cost paths between many points (the number of villages is 1584) and lines (nearest road). However, most of the tutorials are for only two points (one starting and one destination point). Do you have another video that discusses the implementation of the least-cost path between more than one starting and destination point?

Is this also helpful for proposed canal construction? Also suggest what parameter required for the same?

I could not get this video method to work on ArcGIS 10.8.1. Better refer to the ArcGIS online help for correct information. The main problem in this video for me was the instructions to create the source and end points as separate shapefiles for use in the Cost Distance, Cost Back Link, and Cost Path tools. Instead, the source should be made from a shapefile with the source point assigned Value of "1" and the end point assigned Value of "2". Then convert this shapefile to a source raster for use with the Cost Distance tool. The Back Link raster can be made at the same time as the Cost Distance raster in the Cost Distance tool. Following the video instructions, I created a faulty Cost Distance raster and Back Link raster which caused my Cost Path tool to give the message "Failed to Execute".
