Least Cost Path Analysis in ArcMap 10.1
1. Arc Toolbox→ 3D Analyst Tools→Raster Surface→Slope.
2. Make a Start point and End point
3. ArcToolbox → Spatial Analyst Tools → Distance → Cost Distance.
For Input raster or feature source data select " Start point ", and input ratster the Slope
4. ArcToolbox → Spatial Analyst Tools → Distance → Cost Back Link
For Input raster or feature source data select " Start point ", and input ratster the Cost Distance
5. ArcToolbox → Spatial Analyst Tools → Distance → Cost Path.
For Input raster or feature source data select " End point ". For Input cost distance raster select "Cost Distance" and for Input cost backlink raster select " Back Link"
The Cost Path tool determines the least-cost path from a destination point to a source. Aside from requiring that the destination be specified, the Cost Path tool uses two rasters derived from a cost distance tool: the least-cost distance raster and the back-link raster. These rasters are created from the Cost Distance or Path Distance tools. The backlink raster is used to retrace the least costly route from the destination to the source over the cost distance surface.
