Hey Pete, don’t get the Poison appeal either however I have a new respect for Brett Michael. A good friend of mine has a young son who is heavy into music. The young man suffers from some type of condition that causes seizures. Several years ago he went to see poison and unfortunately had a seizure either on his way to the show or shortly after arriving, not sure which. Because of the seizure he was unable to see the show. He emailed Brett Michael and told him what happened. Brett actually responded, told him he was sorry that happened to him and promised when the band came back to town he would send him and his family tickets and bring them backstage after the show. He made good on his promise, sent them tickets and hung out with them after the show fir a couple hours, apparently he was very friendly and really seemed interested in the young man, made him and his family feel very welcome. Kinda cool.

it may be (partly) because bret is a diabetic and understands and / or sympathizes with others with health issues. he's known to "go to bat" for his fans, and though i wouldn't call myself a fan...you gotta admit he's a stand up guy.

Enjoyed this. You guys concentrated a lot on the lettering of a logo. True, often a logo is just the lettering. In other cases, band identity seems to be a combination of the lettering style and symbols. For instance, with Queensryche, I think many identify that band strongly by their Tri-Ryche symbol, which is iconic, appearing almost to be a batman on steroids symbol - even more than their lettering. I think Toto is similar; their lettering itself doesn't impress, but it does fit in with the more striking sword+circle(s) imagery which almost represents a logo.

When Martin showed the CD’s of the Tank box set, my OCD went CRAZY! Please for the love of humanity, please rearrange. 😂😂 I agree with most of those picks, except Magnum, I always liked that lettering. I love the new lettering too and Dio. The Dio lettering is brilliant. The version on Dream Evil is a bit pants though. I hate the Ghost logo and it’s not the inverted cross that bothers me. It’s the ‘G’ at the beginning. You can’t tell it’s a G. When I wear one of my many ghost t shirts out, randoms will say ‘what’s that written on your shirt, ‘Shost?’ And it pisses me off. 😂😂 On the subject of Gillan t shirts, in 1993 a random stranger in a rock bar I frequented back in the day liked my led zeppelin t shirt and I liked his Gillan Glory road 1980 tour t shirt. We decided to swap then and there right in the bar. They were the crazy days.

These conversations with Martin are always so relaxing, I like hearing all his anecdotes and Pete's reactions. As for logos, I always hated the Meat Loaf logo, not because it is a bad logo, but because I got duped into buying one of his albums thinking it was metal, it just doesn't represent what the music really was. Edit: Poison's most interesting album was Native Tongue, where Kotzen replaced Deville. Again, it was the 90s and there was no interest in this band anymore, but musically, I think it was their most serious one, ignore the singles by the way.
