Loved this pattern made the bag for one of my moms xmas gifts. Carved and tooled the front and she loved it! Thanks

Make sure you check the measurements. I made the bucket bag twice because the pattern was off.

I am starting my first circle bag tonight. I was browsing just to see if there were any tips out there, and my FAVORITE leather craft channel posted just in time! Thank you so much for this video!

haha any luck?

@@holidaystation5097 I did have luck. Did it a bit different but it worked out. Instead of the side panels being creased and the gusset flat, mine was the opposite. I ended up just cutting the gusset extra long and test fitting over and over until I kept coming up w the same number. Worked like a charm

You know what I think would be an upgrade to these? A removable silk liner that may or may not have dividers. I don't know how it would attach itself. Maybe some automatic buttons? It would make the bag more complicated but I can just imagine the rough inside of that leather getting nasty with gunk over time.

what is the reinforcement tape you were using around 4:44? I have seen various types, but not sure what to get. Thanks!

I'd love to see a pick with the bound edge if you ever wound up doing that. Puleeeze? 🙂 I just made a version with pockets on the outside with bound edges (pockets only thus far). Those look great but I have a hard time imagining the larger edge looking as good and am feeling stuck. I have loved learning from you over the past year or so; Thank you so much for sharing your work and self :-)

I really enjoy watching your channel. Thank you for being so easy to understand and your descriptions are very good. I'm very new to this wonderful art form. But... I do have a question. When you punched out each end of the stencil for the zipper why did you also join them up by cutting the lengths to join them up. Could you of just left the holes punched on the paper so the outside straight edge was not so wobbly wobbly and just do the middle straight cuts on the leather.

How did you punch sewing holes evenly when joining the circle to the gusset? It jumps from glued to sewn around 22:40..

I am unable to get veg tanned leather where I live so I bought a hide of some leather (can't remember what the man called it) and boy! is it frustrating the heck out of me. When I punch holes for stitching or rivets, it blocks up my punch and I can't get the little bits out. I am terrified to punch all the stitching holes in my project. When I watch you cut your leather it is like cutting into hard butter. Mine feels gritty and takes several passes to cut. I have found it really hard to cut straight. I am going nuts with this stuff!
