Leather Derby Boots I Made For My Wife | Handmade From Start To Finish

Black Apache Bison Hide with silver eyelets and leather sole. These are a pair of boots that I made for my wife, who so patiently waited (until now) for me to make her a pair. These are in-seamed by hand, lasted by hand, and uppers cut by hand. I make all my boots here in my shop located in Utah. Check out our website to get your first pair of boot made by me.

Incredible work! Do you have any recommended resources for the flat pattern drafting method you use? I've mostly seen drafting on the last from a lot of cordwainers/shoemakers.

Its called geometric pattern making George koleff made it popular. Some boot makers dont like it because theres a lot of equations to remember and you cant make every kind of shoe or boot like mocs. Its my favorite method.

What kind of leadtime do you have for a pair of Moc toe 6" boots.. full leather upper with Goodyear Welt and Vibram soles and leather layered heel stack. Similar to a Nick's boots mock toe..... Not sure how else to describe what is like to have made unless you want size and color specifics..... I'm really interested after seeing your work....

Thank you bryan! I’m out a few months right now. Unfortunately I don’t do mock toes since they don’t work with my pattern making method. With mock toes, you have to use the tape method. I find the tape method with inconsistencies and I’m also just not a fan to be honest.

ya I've known some people to use a patcher machine with a walking foot to sew up some boots works well.
