Nice job both in figuring out the pattern and in executing the finished product. I would suggest doing all your dyeing and slicking before you assemble (as you mention toward the end). I just made a few dog leashes and learned a whole bunch of “redo” lessons in the process. Looking forward to seeing more leather projects from you. :)

OLD Leather Smith here, i believe U did A GREAT JOB. Since it's been 4 years I bet U would do it differently. Suggestions, NEVER STITCH ACROSS ONLY LENGTH, when U stitch across U create a perforation, U would be surprised at all the belt buckles I have fixed whern that stitch is used. On your buckles a ROLLER BUCKLE WOULD WORK MUCH SMOOTHER. Just suggesting. Gods BLESSINGS ✝️🥎🙃

Your skills are top notch, but three things I noticed. Now this is ONLY my opinion. I think the straps should be twice as wide. At the top where the straps go over the shoulder, there should be a thick cushioned piece. For years I carried a camera bag and I learned a cushioned strap distributes the weight more comfortably. Third, I think those are attached to your belt loops and on my jeans the loops are poorly attached and break in no time. Perhaps leather loops with a rivet, sewed onto the pants. Certainly, a fine, fine first pair !!
