Very informative. I know from experience saphirs greasy leather cream, which is supposedly mostly Neatsfoot oil made my hands break out in a rash from using my bare hands. Good on you for breaking the old saphir marketing craze. Yes it’s a good product but is it worth that premium over so many other new products today? We shall see. Years ago you pretty much had kiwi and saphir generally. Times have changed. Keep it coming.

Great video Robert! I just put in an order for a container of ‘High Shine’. I am interested in trying it against the mirror gloss I normally use and is getting low. While I would normally just order more of a sure thing, three things won me over to the purchase 1) American company 2) Great price 3) If cobbler Bob Powers says it’s good on his shoes, then it’s good enough for mine! Lol! I look forward to watching second part and trying the product out.

I was already interested in these products when I heard people talking about great results and great pricing in shoe groups but after hearing the nuts and bolts of how its made and how it works I am sold. Looking forward to using these products.

Cobbler Bob, I got my Pure Polish high shine and it works very well! Price is very good, it is much easier to get a good shine than Saphir. You can bring it up to high polish and buff it out very quickly, but I have found that the depth of the clear coat is not as deep or thick as Saphir is... I will still buy and use PP because it is a lot faster to get a nice ‘spit shine’ but when I have the extra time and when I want that extra deep gloss, I’ll still use my mirror gloss...

Very interesting video Bob. I was not aware of all the nuances related to the various shoe shine products available in the marketplace. I always that that there was Saphir, followed by a slew of close ‘seconds’ competing with Saphir. I’’m going directly to the Pure Polish website and study up a bit before I proceed to Part 11 of this video. Nice job! Excellent content and very useful information. thanks for sharing...Ed

Love your wonderful videos, Bob. Because of this video I placed my first order of polishes from Pure Polish earlier today. Very nice offering of polishes. This brand may replace Saphir as my "go to " shoe care brand. Thank you very much.

Consider Pedag please. Very affordable but better than Saphir. German product, available on Amazon.

Thank you! I do believe these Leather Talk series are some of my most underrated videos. They’re so in-depth, I think not a lot of people just won’t take the 40 mins to an hour to watch them.

Sorry for missing your comment! Yeah, that's the downside to the lighter method. Jar of Mayo is right, but as far as fixing it, the first step is seeing if it's just burned wax you can remove, or if the leather surface got burned. If it's full grain leather, you can CAREFULLY lightly sand it, and then re-color the sanded area with either cream polish or dye. Watch viceos on that before you try it though, or send them to someone to do it for you. I've got some videos on recoloring after scratch repair - check out my "Before and After" playlist.

This is inserting. I've read about people moving away from coconut oil because it tends togo rancid and in turn has ruined leather. No clue about this product though.
