I used the Pueblo for many years in combination with Buttero. I eventually upgraded to MPG Graffiti (District Leather Supply) as the hand is much better. It's less dry and has more of a resistant oil texture. The MPG Graffiti Cocoa with the Buttero cocoa work tremendously well together. Cheers Joe!🍺👍

Buttero and Pueblo is a classic combination. I had a look at the MPG Graffiti it’s amazing how identical it looks to Pueblo. I’m trying to imagine the feel and texture of it how you described it. What do you mean by a more resistant oil texture? I’m trying to imagine the feel of it.

Finally an actual review(sort of lol) of these fine European leathers. Haven't tried the Gaucho prolly because of theblimited suppliers of European imports here in the states.. I usually settle with Rocky Mountain Leather for Pueblo and Buttero, solid company and if I want domestic mainly Hermann Oak I go Springfield Leather. Occasionally ill hit up a Tandy but it's a solid hour and few minutes away from me, so i settle with online. Anyways, ive been exploring the different types of vegetable tanned leather other then what i call the "original" way of producing it where it comes out looking a pale pink to off white color. Well, Ill tell you what man, Europe has got it figured out to almost a science. They got the most diverse and fanciest letters that are visually appealing and have a uniqueness that ive yet to seen beat. This leads to so much more different products that I can offer through my leather craft and for all crafters in general. Sorry for the tangent, you got a good thing going with ur videos bro. Keep it up ill be sure to stop by and watch them as you make them! Lastly btw, how to feel about the Minerva by Badalassi Carlo? Its got such a smooth and light medium hand i always have to include it with the pueblo or buttero leathers! Dont get me started on Dollaro by Walpier!! 😲😲😲🤯🤯🤯🙃🙃🙃😵😵😵🐂🐃🐄🐂🐃🐄🐃🐂🐮🐮✌😁😁 Until next time my dude! Peace!

Thank you Matts, Rocky Mountain sure are a solid company with a wide range of colours as well. Exactly right, the Europeans know how to tan leather beautifully. It sure is a art form that they have developed over a long time. I haven’t used Minerva by Badalassi Carlo. What is it like. Is it similar to Buttero?

@@Josephmedcalf0 softer than Buttero since it’s a “Vachetta” leather. Vachettas are softer than straight veg tan.

@@luceafarul579 What does it mean if the leather is Vachetta

@@Josephmedcalf0 it means it has been greased with special oil, animal fats, and minerals during the tanning process. It differs from traditional straight tan leather in that it’s softer and develops a patina quickly and often in slightly different color than a straight veg tan. It’s what Italian veg tan leathers is known and famous for. But once again it’s not just any straight veg tan Italian leather like Buttero. Rocky Mountains puts in the name if it’s vachetta/vacchetta or not.

@@Josephmedcalf0 hey man, sorry bout the super late reply but i completely agree with what the other person said about the Minerva as well as the Vachetta leathers. But one reason i came back to your video is Rocky Mountain has finally gotten some Guacho Oils in! Im bout to purchase a few square ft of some to try it out. Hope all is well and business is good!

Smart of you to ask for specific scraps. They have included scraps on both of my orders so far but the problem is that I have no idea what they are. Goucho oil is one of my theories. Unfortunately for me the only leather I want now are two of the scraps I already have so I have no other order planned to have new specific scraps included to. But I guess it would be possible to ask for just the scraps. Or send those scrpas back and ask for them to be identified. Complicated.

They usually write on the back what leather they are. You could take some pictures of them and send them a email to see if they know.

Yes, that might be the simplest solution. I saw in another KZbin video that they had written the names on the back but so far not on mine.

Hi Joseph, can you do something about my comments (reply to Matt) kept getting deleted for no reason? Are they ending up on your spam box or something?

I checked the conversation, I’m not sure as to why they got deleted. I didn’t get any notifications that you guys were replying to each other so I’m not sure why they got deleted :/

Nice pickup, used the gaucho myself the other week. Quite sensitive. Out of the three Buttero is very nice to work with. Did you get these split?
@Josephmedcalf0
@Josephmedcalf0 2 жыл бұрын
I completely agree the Gaucho is sensitive especially tight bending. I do like the shine of the Gaucho and the consistency of Buttero. If there was a shiney Buttero that would be awesome Yeah I got some split and others just kept at what Belts sell it at.
