Excellent work Haku. I'm glad I found you. Looking at doing this as a hobbie, mostly fun at the moment. Thank you for sharing.

I really love the koba wax. Yes harnening and sanding the edge is a well time tested way to get a perfect edge. Great video as always👌

Thank you for your comment! It would be great if the edges shine beautifully with "koba wax" ! I love it, too. Have a nice new year!

Thank you from the U.K. You have achieved a very nice edge but how many people would appreciate the amount of work that goes into achieving it? I think, for most work, using water, then dying, burnishing and finishing with Tokonole is sufficient, otherwise you would never finish the project!
@haku-handmadeleatherworks-57654 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment. Certainly, many will think that ”TOKONOLE” is sufficient. However, I am not satisfied with the finish using "TOKONOLE". Because it has low durability. It's best to finish edges as you like. Even if it's not appreciated by many people.

@@haku-handmadeleatherworks-5765 I agree with you. I am far more fussy about items I make than potential buyers will be. Taking pride in what you do is very important.
Thanks for good technique, how can we buy "basic dyes"?

I am working in this way. I have a question, but there are times when the cross section looks white after applying wax and wiping it with a cloth. Why?

HI HAKU! My name is Carlos. You do a great leather work. Congratulations!!! I'd like to ask you what kind of leather you use and witch thickness. Thak you!!
@haku-handmadeleatherworks-57654 жыл бұрын
Hi, Carlos. Thank you for your comment! I'm so glad and encouraged. I usually use a vegetable tanned leather made in Italy, named "INGRASSATO". Mainly use 0.8-1.5mm thickness. 0.8mm thickness is mainly used for inside part(Card slot etc.) and 1.5mm is for outer. I hope you enjoy my KZbin videos. Thank you!

Hi bro!Excellent work Haku! Tell me where you can buy such an electric iron to process the edges of the skin! Drop the link ...
@haku-handmadeleatherworks-57655 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment. You can buy the electric iron from here.(a.r10.to/hbHeqM) Or I found it is sold on "eBay"(www.ebay.com/itm/New-HAKKO-Art-Flower-Soldering-Iron-690-F-S-from-Japan/174098515451?hash=item28891485fb:g:QysAAOSwHt9d0NYG)
Hello Haku, thank you for sharing your technique and for the English captions. May I know where to buy the iron online or in Tokyo?
@haku-handmadeleatherworks-57655 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment. I found the same iron I use in my video on the eBay.(free shipping) www.ebay.com/itm/New-HAKKO-Art-Flower-Soldering-Iron-690-F-S-from-Japan/174098515451?hash=item28891485fb:g:QysAAOSwHt9d0NYG The English name of this tool seems to be "Soldering Iron 690". "HAKKO" is the name of the manufacturer in Japan. If you search by this product name, you may find a shop where you can get it faster.

Is it possible to polish 0.2-0.3 mm lambskin and how?
@haku-handmadeleatherworks-57653 жыл бұрын
It's too thin to polish the edges. In my case, I need 0.8mm or more thickness to finish the edge like this. For 0.2mm-0.3mm thickness, it is practical to paint the edges or fold the edges.
Hi, There are 2 Koba waxes. White and black. Why didn't you use black because the leather is kind of dark. Would the result be different? I will buy the columbux wax. Is it enough to buy just the white and use it in all surfaces with all different colors? Thanks for the video.
@haku-handmadeleatherworks-57655 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment. Thank you for your comment. The reason I used white wax is that I only have white. Even with black wax, if the edges are dyed black, the result won't be so different. As you said, white one can be used for other colors. It may be better to say clear than white.So I think it has no problem to buy only white.
Hi I m from India. I like your burnishing technique very much. We are hand stich leather goods manufacturer we used bee wax. I didn't get coba wax online. Could you please help me to find the same. Or can you send me any link to buy this wax

Thank you for your comment. I think the best way is to search again with "Columbus edge wax". "Columbus" is the name of the Japanese manufacturer that makes this wax. I think it is probably sold in your country. It might be sold not as a leather craft product but as a leather shoe care product. If you still can't find it, please search with the keyword "Leatherwax Columbus" on eBay. You can find that sellers in China and Hong Kong are selling it. There are many similar products, so please check if there is a logo of "Columbus" on the item. And this is what I know. Leather craft pallet (Japan) global.rakuten.com/en/store/lc-palette/item/e81025/ Rockey moutain leather supply (the US): www.rmleathersupply.com/collections/supplies/products/columbus-mill-japan-edge-wax?variant=13974808100973 I hope you can get this item safely. Thank you.
