I'm your huckleberry! Making the "Johnny Ringo" holster and belt rig from 1993's classic "Tombstone." I love the blingy look of this rig. The combination of black leather, silver spots & conchos, and brass cartridges really pops. IMHO, this would be a good project for a novice leatherworker as the tooling is relatively simple and the holster is a straightforward Mexican loop style.

Nice, I like the trick with stitching the loops by zig zagging a single continuous line. I’ve done smaller quantities one at a time, and the thought of doing that 30+ times for a larger piece sounds miserable. Great piece, nice work.

I'd say the best way is to find a specific leather item you want to make and go about collecting all the materials you need to make just that. For me it was a holster for a Starr revolver... something no one else sold.

I had round (head) knife. Could never get used to it so I ended up selling it. Pushing the knife through the leather and the overall greater distance of my hand from the cutting action just felt strange to me.
