Leatherman REBAR : Hard Test Session [MT VOD]

This is a tragic discovery for me, the Rebar file is bad, the very fact of cutting aluminium makes it incapable of cutting iron, even of marking it! At the file level (for filing), it is not much better. The comparison with a Victorinox file is quickly made. I'm asking Leatherman to pull himself together.
C'est une découverte tragique pour moi, la lime du Rebar est mauvaise, le seul fait de couper de l'aluminium la rend inapte à couper du fer, voire même de le marquer ! Au niveau des limes (pour limer), ce n'est guère mieux. La comparaison avec une lime de Victorinox est vite faite. Je demande à Leatherman de se ressaisir.

Je possède un charge tti (1ere version) dont la lime diamant est devenue lisse et inutilisable .😢 De ce fait mon charge , qui était quand même une version premium avec du titane et du s30v reste souvent au placard😔 . В начале видео на картинке я так понимаю мечта любого любителя ножей и мультитулов. Сколько смотрю обзоры ножей и мультитулов все стандартно режут бумагу и тряпки и кусают провода. Даешь хардкор распилить кирпич например или там согнуть прут стальной, чтоб на пределе возможностей. А видео все равно лайк.

Hola , gracias por tus videos. Pude notar que al hacer fuerza con el destornillador, se da una oscilación entre ambos brazos de la multiherramienta, no sé si pasa lo mismo con la super tool 300? Siempre me ha gustado la rebar pero no me descido entre Rebar o Super tool 300. Un saludo

Really loved this test, the rebar is my favorite edc mt, i carry mine every day, i even have 2 of them, one in black, for me is the best balance, for it is light and compact,but still capable of some hard use. A bit disappointed about the file, although it is my less used tool, so i don't mind that much, the saw is great for drywall

Bonjour. Avec Leatherman, la question de la solidité ne se pose pas. Se pose la question de l'outillage. Le Rebar ne possède pas de ciseaux et ses lames se déploient moins facilement, pas de bit driver. Mais il est plus léger et plus compact .. et moins cher. Le Wave n'a pas de poinçon. A vous donc de faire le choix par rapport à ces différences :)

Comment trouvez-vous la lime du rebar vs du victorinox ? Et au niveau de la qualité de la pince ? Laquelle des deux préfèrez-vous ?

Il existe une version du Rebar sans couteau et avec ciseaux (knifeless). La lime du Rebar est très mauvaise alors que celle du Spirit est excellente. Ce qui sauve le Rebar est son coupe-fil remplaçable.

Le tube est en aluminium. La scie à métal de la lime est très décevante, rien à voir avec une lime/scie Victorinox. Pas de problème pour la scie à bois.

I'd like to ask you a question about files. I bought a first generation PST leatherman for 15 euros used, but in excellent condition. well I found the file of the OLD PST (without diamond side) exceptional. Certainly on a par with victorinox files! maybe even better. And certainly better than the leatherman surge, wave, charge etc. I believed that on the rebar there was the same file as the PST. But you speak badly of it so I deduce that it is not the same .....

You are right to report that the PST file was excellent. This is unfortunately not the case for files installed on other Leatherman multi-tools. That of REBAR is very bad, a shame.

Try to clean the file with a wire brush. After working with a file on aluminum, it seems that the surface is worn out. In fact, it can be contaminated with aluminum.

The Rebar file is bad, not aggressive enough, that's all. Nothing to do with a Victorinox file (on the Workchamp for example).

They make the file weak because people use it as a personal hygiene device for finger nail. A true file would injure them. Liability issue.
